Hey guys! Aside from illustrating, I also play Valorant occasionally. I haven't been able to play much due to uni and work, but I wanted to take the chance to make this illustration for a few reasons: it's Pride Month, I'm a Clove main, and surprise, surprise I’m non-binary! Happy Pride! <3
Thinking about Sage and "Crown" by Gigi Perez. Yes, the VP has always appreciated and loved her, but how much did they really?
Did they always pay attention to all the pressure she puts on herself, the pressure they, too, put on her? Did they always make sure she took breaks and didn't heal every single wound? Did they always check in on her the way she checks on them? Did they always make sure she knew how important she is, how cared for she is, how much she matters, beyond her capacity as a healer?
...Or did they only start doing all of that after the crystals became visible and she couldn't physically handle the toll anymore?

From Valorant's official account on Instagram (well, I'm sure it's posted elsewhere as well, but I saw it on Instagram), we have Sage saying this:
"Brimstone, I know the others are talking. I do not blame them—but they need to spend that energy elsewhere. I'm fine. The crystals won't interfere with the work ahead of us and I've already proven that on the field. You have seen what kind of damage Omega can do under their new "leadership." This is not the time to rest. I'm fine! This is not up for discussion."
The caption of the video also reads: "Everyone has a breaking point."

I just can't get over how exhausted and frustrated she sounds. Then there's the way she's also focusing on proving that she's still useful and the damage she can prevent rather than actually worrying about her health and well-being....ohhh Sage you make me sick. This is the first time we've seen her martyr complex on display so obviously, and my god does it hurt. The way she finds it necessary to repeat that she's fine, the way she won't even allow anyone else to doubt it or consider taking her off of the field... It's so painfully clear that she doesn't give a damn what happens to her as long as the Protocol prevails.
Also, shoutout to @nanmermr03 for bringing the video to my attention. We, yes WE, are suffering now <3
