All cops are bad.
“But what about my uncle-”
All cops are bad.
“But I know a cop who’s-” All cops are bad.
“But one of my best friends-” All cops are bad. Regardless of how nice they are to you.

really cool coincidence that every single latin american nation with a leader that attempts to nationalize an industry that is profitable to america just happens to have an american-supported right-wing politician come along and accuse them of election fraud before trying to start a coup
What should we do with people who rely on government handouts, but refuse to work?
Kick them out of congress.

Broke: You don't need money to be happy
Woke: It is inherent of the capitalism system we live in to make people believe that you need only money to be happy, and while we have to stay away from the concept of money=happiness, we cannot look away from the financial problems of the working class, meaning, extreme wealth is not necessary to live happily, but an estable and good financial state is.
EMERGENCY ACTION REQUIRED TO DEFEND JOCK PALFREEMAN!
Jock Palfreeman is an Australian antifascist currently imprisoned in Bulgaria. While traveling through Bulgaria in 2007, Jock witnessed a gang of nazis assaulting two Roma boys and intervened. When the gang turned on Jock, he defended himself and in the ensuing melee one of the nazis, Andrei Monov, was killed. After a sham trial, Jock was convicted and began serving a 20-year prison sentence. For the last 11 years, Jock has been a model prisoner and has led a group advocating for the civil rights of prisoners, the Bulgarian Prisoners Association. Last week, it was announced that Jock would be granted parole. But as a result of a campaign by extreme right politicians in Bulgaria, Jock’s freedom is now in jeopardy! Sotir Tsatsarov, Bulgaria’s prosecutor general, has appealed the decision to grant parole to Jock and re-open his case. IT’S TIME FOR US TO TAKE ACTION TO DEFEND JOCK! 1) Write to the Bulgarian ambassador in your country to demand that Sotir Tsatsarov revoke his appeal of Jock’s parole and that Bulgaria immediately release Jock. Find a list of Bulgarian embassies here. 2) Contact the Bulgarian Prosecutor’s office to demand that Tsatsarov revoke his appeal of Jock’s parole and that Bulgaria immediately release Jock. Contact information here. 3) Contact Australian foreign minister Marise Payne and demand that Australia take the strongest action possible to convince the Bulgarian government to revise the appeal of Jock’s parole and release Jock to Australia immediately. Contact information here. 4) Contact Australian prime minister Scott Morrison and demand that Australia take the strongest action possible to convince the Bulgarian government to revise the appeal of Jock’s parole and release Jock to Australia immediately. Contact information here. 5) Share this information widely - an immediate, large, and vocal response from Jock’s supporters around the world may be the difference between Jock’s freedom and at nine more years in a Bulgarian prison!

I am asking in all seriousness, what do you fight for? I have my own views but still believe we have a right to then. What is important to you? What is setting people so far apart on beliefs? Strong beliefs are worth a fight. I have my own and am conservative. Can I get an honest reply of why we are at such odds? I believe in freedom, but freedom without trying to control, I believe in work and support of others. I believe in mentoring. Would like to talk. No more words allowed.
Anti-fascism is a global movement with hundreds of thousands of people involved. As such, there is as diverse a range of political viewpoints within anti-fascism as there is in the general population (yes, there are even conservative antifa!). What unites us is one thing: an opposition to fascism & bigotry and an intention to do whatever we need to in order to shut down fascism & bigotry. We think the anti-fascist ethos is best summed up in the motto “respect existence or expect resistance.” We believe that people should be free to live their lives without fear of discrimination, persecution, or violence being visited upon them because of their ethnicity, gender or sexual identity, language, migrant status, religion, or disability. We believe that anyone that believes otherwise, encourages other people to believe otherwise, or might act on such bigoted beliefs is a clear threat to our communities and to humanity and must be stopped. We’re going to guess that, even though you’re a conservative, you’re probably nodding your head in agreement with this. Like we said before, there are many conservative anti-fascists and most conservatives would find that they actually share the same values & aspirations of anti-fascists (see above). For example, here’s footage of antifa & conservatives working together to kick fascists out of a 2017 Trump rally. That said, conservative anti-fascists find themselves grappling with some contradictions more left-leaning antifa don’t have to deal with. Like the historical fact that every time a fascist regime has come to power, it’s only been able to do so with the consent & cooperation of existing conservative elites. Or the tendency of conservatives to be so loyal to police that they turn a blind eye to police wrong-doing and, in the case of anti-fascism, outright police bigotry and even collaboration with (or membership in!) extreme racist or fascist groups. Or the fact that, despite conservatives’ professed love of the Second Amendment, they sit on their hands when the authorities pass laws or seize firearms from racialized people. Even the professed love of “freedom” that conservatives claim doesn’t seem to mean much when you ask them if that includes freedoms like the freedom of movement (see: the Trump border wall) or the freedom to live your life in a way that’s consistent wth your gender identity or sexual orientation. We’re not saying that you, Anon, are specifically opposed to people crossing imaginary, invisible lines set up by wealthy elites long-since dead or that you are a homophobe or transphobe, but you’d have to admit that for a political perspective that claims to value “freedom” so dearly, conservatives tend to get all up in people’s business regarding how they’re allowed to present themselves or where they’re allowed to travel or live. Contradictions aside, the bottom-line is still this: if a conservative opposes bigotry & fascism and is willing to stand up and doing something to back that up, they are an anti-fascist!

The Coming Recession: Wages, Debt, and Crisis
Recession is on the horizon, but pundits and politicians are downplaying and distorting it for economic and political purposes.
President Trump is still touting his economic achievements, but has also now started threatening that it could all go away if we fail to keep him in power after 2020. In June, he tweeted: “If anyone but me takes over in 2020 … there will be a Market Crash the likes of which has not been seen before!”
Many mainstream economists are still citing indicators like low unemployment and job growth to suggest that the economy will remain stable. Others, however, warn that one of the many realities these indicators ignore is the lack of wage increases in recent years. A new survey from bankrate.com showed that over 55% of Americans are making the same amount of money — or less — than they were in 2007. That is, they’re earning less than they were before the so-called Great Recession, from which we’ve allegedly been experiencing a healthy recovery under Trump…
In the early 1970s, global capitalism entered into a profitability crisis which has lasted to this day. The capitalist system dealt with this and sustained itself — as it always does — by crushing its workers further. One recent instance of this is the Trump administration’s corporate tax cuts, which helped barely sustain the economy by saving corporations money. That money has been used to shore up corporations’ investments rather than paying their workers more, so what Trump is claiming as the most recent economic recovery has not actually given most ordinary people any relief.
A slowdown is now widely expected. In mid-July, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell told Congress that “uncertainties around trade tensions and concerns about the strength of the global economy continue to weigh on the U.S. economic outlook.”
Low interest rates since the last recession have formed many bubbles that will inevitably pop. The Fed’s inflation of the U.S. stock market has caused stocks to rise faster than their actual earnings, meaning that at this point the market is extremely overvalued. The market will inevitably correct itself, and this time recovering the economy will be particularly difficult, for several reasons. What commentators are not saying — but what some of the information they’re putting out implies — is that it is hard to imagine how the economy will recover at all.
