I honestly cannot believe that Nintendo is remaking/reimagining OOT. I'm hyped but sooo skeptical and anxious for what they have planned. Not a big fan of the newer titles and i know they've said they won't be returning to traditional methods moving forward, so will this game be more like botw/totk?

Honestly thought the trailer was fanmade from not only the voice acting but also how Young Link looks. The trailer has only increasd my anxiety for a variety of reasons:

- will this remake have full voices (or similar to botw/totk)? Link has a different voice it seems in the Japanese and English versions of the trailer, so it seems there will be. I'm in the minority ig to say the voice acting has really left a sour taste in my mouth regardless of which dub/sub I tried bc there always one or two voices that really grinded my gears. I always felt the text boxes gave so much character to how you can interpet a scene (especially in OOT/MM when you have the ambient sounds of a torch nearby. Or the silence as a realization hits the player in MM)

- Link starts with the triforce which either means A) this is just a teaser for how he'll get it once he gets the sword for the fans or B) this is going to be reimagining the story. Whether that's adding details/story beats from the cut content from N64 [unicorn fountain and finding the actual triforce?] Or they're going to take major parts of the story and change it. [Dear god, do not take from the manga. The Volvagia crap always pissed me off as a kid]

-leading me to my third worry: Z/e/li//nk. I can understand the interest and appeal in both SS and totk/botw, hoping they either don't push for it at all or actually make it ambigous since OOT has so many important people in his life that he could be with that does NOT have to be the girl that is also stuck in this destiny every time.

- the world building and atmosphere. Will it be open world? Will it contain the same secrets? The music? What about areas that had less is more like Bongo Bongo's room? I was so disappointed with the 3DS version and how it made his room a giant metal box. The N64 made it so eerie that it was this seemingly endless blackpit of a room.

And honestly, the art style is...interesting. but Nintendo has always changed up styles and was heavily critiqued on it (WW, SS, BOTW), but once I see more of the characters and the world, maybe my opinion will change. Ever since my disappointment when SS came out after watching all the trailers, I stopped watching trailers and even looking things up for new titles [to the extent i didnt know totk was released when it finally came out a few years ago]. But now I'm unsure whether I should watch the next trailer when it comes out closer to the Fall to gauge whether or not it's worth playing or if i should cave and go in blind.

I hope every single person who puts nice comments in tags under reblogged art knows that you you guys are the backbone of society. Being an artist online sucks these days, but here on tumblr I still get compliments under artworks that I made years ago. I hope you know every WOW and heart emoji and heartfelt compliment and funny comment you left in the tags is part of the reason I kept drawing all these years, in spite of everything that was going on.

Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.

That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.

YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.

This is a breaking point and it's going to be very interesting to see how we proceed from here.

I DO think tumblr's dev team has been instructed to constantly implement new features and that's why they keep tweaking the UI in goofy ways. I imagine this is an upper management thing, so even if we say "well don't change anything and just maintain the status quo" they'll continue to make other changes anyway.

I will admit I REALLY like the recent improvements they've added to tumblr's search (you can exclude terms now!! you can search multiple tags!! and time frames!!) so it's not like they're incapable of adding useful features. it might be mutually beneficial for us as users if we were more vocal about things we want and don't want. Some features I'd like to see added:

I think what might help the whole "low engagement in fandom spaces driving creatives out because they don't see the point in sharing anything only to get crickets or critics" is not the shaming tone of "look this is how you get nothing, you entitled shits" that tends to be very pervasive, but rather pointing out how actually rewarding it can be to leave nice comments.

I like to leave very long rambling comments on people's fics and that has actually netted me some very real, genuine friendships and we've become cheerleaders for each other. My friend has a D&D Podcast that she doesn't get ANY sort of engagement out of, so I started listening to it at work and livereacting the things I enjoy about it and showing her my investment and it makes her very happy and it makes me happy that she's happy.

Being nice to people... is actually a good enough reason to do things, shockingly enough. You don't have to do it. No one should shame you for not doing it. But it doesn't actually cost anything to make other people happy, especially if they created something that made you happy.

At the end of the day: If I make an original post on MY OWN BLOG, then when I click on the notes of MY POST on MY OWN FUCKING BLOG, I should be able to see absolutely EVERY SINGLE piece of engagement with MY POST that has EVER happened. The fact that even by clicking on MY OWN ORIGINAL POST I can't see all the commentary that has been added to MY POST is unacceptable.
