Episode 2, Act 5 – New Life

"My former identity was Shedletsky. That was my name. I held, or rather, still hold, the title of the best swordsman in all of Robloxia...

One day, 2x2 approached me and, resting a sword on my shoulder, named me a Deity..." Telamon began, chuckling slightly at that last part.

"...That ritual sounds pretty familiar to me..." Skylaine replied quietly, but her voice was clearer now that she was sitting on the floor on the other side of the locked door... After all, she had gone through the same ritual herself.

"Yeah... and I was so thrilled about it, I could channel my power into swords, I created the concept of heights... all thanks to 2x2, who saw my potential.

I came back down to earth and ran into my house, I told my parents what had happened," he continued, though he began to sob as he reached the emotional part. Skylaine remained just as quiet, waiting for what was to come, even though she could likely guess.

"They didn't react the way parents normally would — because, according to them, they never had a son..." Telamon finished his story quietly, tears now streaming down his cheeks...

"...I didn't know you knew what that felt like," Skylaine replied softly, the door had been unlocked by now and stood slightly ajar — a metaphor for how Skylaine had set aside her ego and was now open to understanding Telamon's reasons for his silence.

"That is why I stayed silent, Skylaine. First, because I chose to detach myself from humanity — and I applied that same approach to you. And second, precisely because of that detachment, I didn’t know how to break the news gently, I know how deeply you tend to hold onto your emotions.

I only wanted to protect you from what had hurt me, too. And I wanted to shield you from the decision I made afterward," he explained, his voice soft and delicate, as if he feared his choice of words might damage their relationship even further.

Skylaine finally opened the door fully, she stepped out of her room and sat down in front of Telamon.

"Big B..." she began — a simple nickname that, in that moment, meant more to Telamon than any gemstone on earth. "I’m sorry I thought you were a traitor and misinterpreted your efforts to protect me. I painted you as a monster who wanted to isolate me and was deliberately withholding the truth, but you’re just someone who cares about my well-being and wanted to spare me from that same pain.

I’m going to work on handling situations like this more rationally, instead of letting my emotions take over before hearing the whole story..." After these words, they held each other close, weeping over the losses they had endured.

After a moment of silence, Telamon broke the embrace and took Skylaine’s hand: "Unfortunately, we have to put the past behind us now... You experienced beautiful things, but the outcome now can’t be changed. What you Do have, however, is the present. I’ll help you build your new life, okay, lil’ sis?"

"Yeah, Big B, that sounds good," she replied with a gentle smile.
