“Oh, I just asked if anything had changed with your memories.. but my guess is that the answer is a no.”

Lupine features were out and proud, and Rahne may or may not have been surrounded by the carnage of a few shredded punching bags and training dummies, a sheepish but halfhearted grin on her face, “Listen – I’m tryin’ somethin’ new, alright? Everybody’s gotta cope somehow.”

Scratching the back of her head, she glanced around awkwardly, “I’ll er– clean it up later.”

“Believe me, I’ve seen worse.” Daisy replied with a light hearted chuckle, glancing around at the shredded pieces around the room. “My messes were usually made of glass until I learned to control my powers better. But hey, it’s better to take it out on those dummies than an actual person, I’ll give you credit for that.”

“Sure,” A shrug punctuated his sentence, as Alex leaned back against the wall and folded his arms behind his head, “Easiest explanation I guess.”

Daisy couldn’t get a good read on him. “Easy usually means it’s not the full truth. But hey, we all have our own issues. And sometimes it’s not easy to talk about them.”

“I have blood!” Daisy took a step back, now slightly concerned. “You’re with the Guardians right? I didn’t hear anything about them flying around with a vampire.”

“Maybe he should try talkin’ to the real Fury if he can find a way to pin him down.” From all accounts Fury had been moving around as he pleased and doing what he wanted. Not S.H.I.E.L.D. but not independent either. No one could really tell Fury what to do so they just let him be. “That’s one way of putting it. Fighting with each other, at odds. We all lost track of who were really supposed to be working against. Some of it was bound to happen but there’s a lot of time lost to pride. It’s easy to have regrets. I know we all do. But we’re moving forward, aren’t we?”

Before she replied, Daisy scoffed. “Yeah, good luck getting in touch with him. I can never keep track of where the hell that guy is. And then he calls us at the worst possible times. We can’t win.” That’s why it was at least a little comforting to have Fury’s notes. And Coulson’s. “We are. We have a lot to move forward from, but if you take a step back and look.. I think we’ve all made progress. Which is amazing, honestly. There’s been times when it felt like even if the world didn’t end, we wouldn’t make it.”

“Love the creativity.” Daisy replied with a look. “If I think about those horrible men anymore, I might snap. So.. catch me up. I haven’t been able to visit in a while, how are you holding up?”
