Spicy/Sour Tofu Soup!
This soup was actually really good! I was a little skeptical since I've never had egg in soup before, but it turned out really well. Next time I might marinade the tofu a little and fry it for longer, as it did get a lil soggy. The soup is completely vegan btw.
I used this recipe!

Tbh true love is making food with no onions bc ur boyfriend hates them lol
Any tips for meal planning?
I start my internship tomorrow, so I'm attempting a meal plan for the first time in ages lol. Might have gone overboard with wanting to make interesting food, but I can always adjust it next week.
I only found recipes without onions, as my boyfriend can't eat them. Besides, all recipes are vegetarian or vegan, except for one that's pescetarian. So this week will be:
Monday: Burgers w/ beetroot patties and different greens (vegetarian).
Tuesday: Tofu hot and sour soup w/ mushrooms (vegetarian).
Wednesday we play Dungeons & Dragon, so we will likely order food.
Thursday: Roasted root vegetables w/ rice and hummus (vegan).
Friday: Potato soup w/ garlic bread and pumpkin seeds (vegetarian).
Saturday: Salmon Fettucine Alfredo w/ lemon and dill (pescetarian).
Sunday: Coconut and squash dhansak w/ naan (vegan) + a chocolate mousse (vegetarian).
I will be posting the recipes that turn out well throughout the week!

Random socializing tip: Tell people when they’ve had a positive impact on your life!
e.g.: “Hey, remember when I asked you for advice on X? That was really helpful, I tried it and now (insert what has improved)”
“You kept gushing about (insert series/book/movie/recipe) and made it sound really appealing, so I checked it out and I really liked it!”
“Thank you for letting me vent recently, telling you what bothered me really helped me to work through it / helped me see it from another perspective / gave me the courage to address it with the person I was talking about.”
It helps people see their own strong points, it deepens your relationships, it makes the people in your life feel appreciated and special and it can give you warm fuzzy feelings!
Win/win all around!
“this reminded me of you” is one of the sweetest things someone can tell you. you’re in their thoughts frequently enough for them to see pieces of you in a song they listened to or a book they read or even in the character of a show they’re watching
Active Listening 101
from MindTools.com
1. Pay Attention. Give your undivided attention to the speaker, & acknowledge the message. Pay attention to body language. Look at the speaker directly and avoid distraction. Don't mentally prepare a defense or disagreement!
2. Show that you're listening. Use body language and gestures to show that you're interested. Try occasional nodding and smiling combined with spoken encouragement like "yeah, uh-huh"
3. Give feedback–as a listener, it is our job to understand what is being said. Ask questions to clarify points. Reflect out loud with what you're hearing by saying things like "What it sounds like you're saying is..." or "What I'm hearing is..."
4. Defer judgment. Don't interrupt to disagree. Don't interrupt at all!
5. Respond appropriately using the information you understood from the speaker. Be candid, open, and honest in a respectful way. Respond how you would want someone to talk to you.

Breakfast Pancakes!
I have always had this silly dream of making pancakes for a partner in the morning and today I finally had the chance <3 This is my current favorite pancake recipe and it's translated from Danish. These are fairly thin pancakes, but not quite crepes.
Ingredients:
125 g white flour
50 g sugar
3 eggs
3 1/2 dl milk (1.5 US cups)
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tsp ground cardemum
A pinch of salt
Butter for frying
Method:
1. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and whisk until it's free of lumps.
2. Heat up a frying pan on medium/high heat.
3. Add a lil piece (about a teaspoon) of butter to the pan and let it melt.
4. Pour 1/2 dl (0.2 US cups) of the pancake batter on the pan and let it fry for maybe a minute depending on the temperature. Keep a close eye on it or it might burn! When the pancake is golden brown with darker spots, flip it over and fry for another minute.
5. Remove pancake and repeat.
6. Please omg just keep an eye on them. I read a single text message and lost an entire pancake lol.
We ate the pancakes with jam, powdered sugar and slices of banana, but I can also recommend lemon juice and sugar, nutella and berries, whipped cream, chopped nuts, other fruit, chocolate etc.
I think the meaning of life is eating good food in the company of people you love
compliment recklessly! say the nice things that come to your head! we've got better things to do than resisting the instinct to be kind!
If you (like me) struggle a bit with your memory, there really is no shame in keeping lists of stuff that your friends and loved ones like! It can be ideas for birthdays gifts, cakes you can bake when they visit you, their favorite beverages, colors etc.
That you wrote something down and didn’t necessarily remember it on your own, does not make a following show of affection any less sincere <3
Things I like to do to make my friends feel loved pt. 1
We all want our friends to know how much we care about them and we all have different ways of showing it. These are a few things that I personally find great joy in doing! These things require very different amounts of energy or time to do, but most really just boil down to “remember or write down the stuff your loved ones like”, so you don’t forget lol.
1. Baking! Or any kind of “making” really: I keep a little list of cakes and baked goods that I know my loved ones love. One friend really loves brownies, so I like to try out new brownie recipes once in a while, to find his favorite. Another friend likes chocolate chip cookies and I’m still trying to figure out how to make them right haha. But I’m getting pretty good at making my mom’s favorite cake!
2. Planning ahead for birthdays: I keep close track of birthdays! Last year I started planning ahead for all birthdays and even though I didn’t always succeed in getting things done in time or at all, I’m trying again this year! It gives me time to order things with a long shipping time or make things myself. And remembering that birthdays are happening all the time, makes it easier for me to remember to jot down ideas when I think of them. I even keep a document with gift ideas for all my friends and family members!
3. Listen, like really listen: It’s so easy to zone out a bit, when your loved one is rambling on about something you really couldn’t care less about. And while we all have very different attention spans, even an attempt to keep up goes a long way! My brother recently told me how nice it was that I actually listened to him talk about farming and big machines, since our parents are often too busy or tired to really take it all in. You don’t have to ask follow-up questions or add commentary, just giving your full attention for a little while is really all it takes!
And these are all things I’m still practicing and trying to get better at. But that’s the whole point. When you put in effort to show love, it will be noticed, even if you feel like you are fumbling. Everything in life is a skill of some kind and we all grow in little ways every day, as long as we put a lil effort into it <3
A nice smelling home
How nice it is to have a home that smells nice. Like I’ve said before, for me, to make a living space a home, you need to use all your senses.
First thing, keep your living space clean. Be especially thorough when you deal with food leftovers. Don’t ignore dirty laundry (even kept in a closed basket) or dirty dishes.
Empty your trash regularly even if it’s not filled : especially in summer. Here we separate our perishable/organic waste from the rest. So it’s easy to get rid of what spoils and smells bad.
Air your living space daily for at least five minutes every day. It’s good for the health and gives a good scent to your home.
Flowers and plants can make a room smell nice but be careful about changing the water and getting rid of dead leaves.
I prefer incense to air freshener as I don’t want too many chemicals in the house. However I use coal made for that purpose and I use organic incense or oud. Don’t overdo it if someone in your home is asthmatic or you have small children or pets.
Adding aromatic herbs such as rosemary or thyme to boiling water can make your home smell fresh and purify the air. You can even add rose petals or lavender.
I use essential oils to clean the house in very small quantities. One should be careful when using them but they are a good way to make a home smell nice.
Home made rose water or lavender water is great to wipe counters or walls or even to clean the floor.
I like scented candles but once more I’m concerned about chemicals in them so I use them sparingly and only when we have guests.
Nothing beats nice food cooking or a cake baking in the oven to make your living space smell homely.
I also like things like clove studded oranges or fresh rosemary twigs to add some spice to the air.
What are your tips to make your home smell nice?
yall see “love” and immediately go to “romantic love” if you translate “love is the whole point” to “romantic love is the whole point” you need to rethink everything because love is found in everything. in community, in friendships, in family, in food, in nature so actually love is the whole point and u can die mad about it. hope this helps <3
