Despite the fact Quinn did come from money, and that she did enjoy the nicer things in life, she did like more heartfelt things. She always had, ever since she was a little girl, so with Sam saying that he had his dad’s truck and with how creative he was, Quinn already felt like the luckiest girl out there. It explained why her boyfriend had mentioned dressing warmer, and when he further told her it was at the drive-in, a grin broke out on Quinn’s face.
Sam Evans really was one of the last few good ones.
“Hot cocoa sounds amazing,” Quinn said, the grin lighting up her hazel eyes, holding out a hand for Sam to take and lead her to his father’s truck. She could only imagine Sam asking his dad to borrow it for a few hours, telling him why, and Quinn could just see Mr. Evans’ nod of his head in agreement for it. With her own father out of her life (even with Quinn still trying to reach out), it was welcoming to have a sense of a “normal” family, and be told she was always welcome at their home. Before the couple took off, Quinn took a small moment to lean over, brushing her lips against Sam’s cheek, before lightly nuzzling him with the tip of her nose. Settling back and getting situated, the girl raised a brow expectantly, sure the smile on her face wouldn’t disappear for the entire night.
“Hot cocoa it is then.” He smiled. Quinn’s hands always felt pretty soft, maybe because his were always pretty calloused from lifting. Nonetheless, he really liked holding hands with her. Once they had arrived at the truck, he made sure to open her door for her. It was like number one in the book of being a gentleman and he was all about being a gentleman. He felt his face became a bit flushed when they Eskimo kissed, it was actually one of his favorite things.
“Alright, so I tried checking what they were playing but it wouldn’t give me an exact movie since it’s Valentine’s Day. So we’ll both be pretty surprised with whatever pops up.” He had no idea how drive-ins really worked, he just thought they were pretty cool and kinda maybe got the idea from Grease. He really wanted this night to be perfect: he really really really liked Quinn. “I’m really glad we’re getting to celebrate tonight together.”
He wanted to apologize for not taking her to some place elegant like a lot of people did with their significant others, but then again it wasn’t his style. “Have you ever been to one of these before?” He had no idea if it was very popular in Lima, since it wasn’t super popular back in Nashville. “I can’t believe that they’re not as popular as they were back in the day. Like watching a movie from the comfort of your own car, it’s pretty cool.”
