Thoughts about Satoru Gojo #2: The loneliness of being the strongest ❤️‍🩹

“Are you the strongest because you’re Satoru Gojo? Or are you Satoru Gojo because you’re the strongest?”

I think this is one of the most important questions in Gojo’s entire character.

What makes his loneliness so interesting is that he is NEVER truly alone. He is surrounded by students, colleagues, and people who admire him. He is loud, playful, and constantly drawing attention to himself. But there is a difference between being surrounded by people and being understood.

Geto was not just his best friend. He was the ONLY person Gojo ever called his best friend. 💔 The only person who could stand BESIDE him and understand what it meant to carry the burden of being the strongest.

That is why their separation is so tragic. 🥹

After Riko Amanai’s death, they looked at the same cruel world and came to two completely different conclusions.

Geto looked at the suffering of sorcerers and decided that the source of that suffering the non-sorcerers who create cursed energy — had to disappear. (Understandable, but brutal)

Gojo looked at the same world and decided to change the system from within. To create a new generation that would no longer be sacrificed by the old traditions.

Neither of them ignored the problem. They simply chose opposite paths. And that is what makes their story so heartbreaking: they understood each other’s pain, but they could no longer walk the same road. 😭

After losing Geto, Gojo had already become the strongest, but now he became the strongest alone...

And that is why he puts so much hope into his students.

Not because he wants followers.

Not because he wants people standing behind him.

But because he wants people who can stand BESIDE him and even surpass him. People who can share the burden that he has carried alone for so long.

Being the strongest means everyone expects you to save them.

Everyone believes that you will always have the answer.

Everyone needs Satoru Gojo.

But very few people ever stop and ask what it means to be Satoru Gojo...

The misunderstanding of Satoru Gojo's personality.

Satoru Gojo is one of the characters that I think is the easiest to misunderstand.

On the surface, he is arrogant, loud, annoying, childish, and constantly teasing everyone around him. He calls himself the strongest (he is tho 😁), jokes in serious situations, and acts like nothing can ever touch him. But I think reducing him to "a cocky genius" misses the point of his character.

The more I watched Jujutsu Kaisen, the more I noticed that almost every moment where his arrogance appears is also paired with something else: responsibility.

When he tells Yuji, "Don't worry, I'm the strongest," it can sound like a simple flex. But to me, there is something very protective in that sentence. It is not just "look how powerful I am." It is "you don't need to carry this fear alone. You can still be a kid because I will carry the burden." (parenting mode activated 🥺)

And something I found interesting, even from a language perspective (although I am only a beginner in Japanese, so this is just my personal observation and from what I have read), is that his way of speaking often carries a level of playfulness and softness that does not always translate as simple arrogance. There is a difference between someone who looks down on everyone (that would be Sukuna 👀) and someone who is confident while still caring deeply about the people around him.

That is why I find his relationship with his students so interesting. He does not want them to become tools. He wants them to have a youth that he believes no one should be allowed to take away. 🩵

Gojo's character is a contradiction: someone who acts like he has no worries while carrying the responsibility of being the strongest; someone who appears emotionally untouchable while constantly investing himself in the next generation.

Maybe that is why I find him so interesting.

The loudest person in the room might actually be hiding the quietest parts of himself. 🤍

Yakuza Fiancé (Raise wa Tanin ga Ii) - YES to the drama, NO to the man.

I actually really enjoyed this anime.

The dynamic is interesting, messy, and fun to watch - very much a “fiction-only” kind of enjoyment. The power play, the tension, the contrast between characters… it works. I get why people are drawn to it.

That said, I’m not a huge fan of unfinished stories, and since this is only one season with no real ending yet, that part definitely frustrates me. I like emotional closure. I like knowing where things land. So that’s a minus for me personally. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What I really liked, though, is Yoshino. She’s not naive, not soft in a helpless way, independent, and she doesn’t romanticize what’s happening to her. She feels grounded, self-aware, and emotionally sharp, which makes her WAY MORE interesting than the typical “I can fix him” heroine.

As for Kirishima… 😬🚩

He’s charismatic. He’s entertaining. He’s intense. He’s fun to watch.

But would I ever fall for a man like that? ABSOLUTELY NOT - not even fictionally. 🙅🏼‍♀️

The biggest turnoff for me is how he treats women and the fact that he’s a womanizer. That’s a hard NO. Men like this genuinely disgust me 🫠 Violence, power, danger - those don’t bother me as much in fiction. BUT disrespect and emotional carelessness? That’s where I check out 🛫

So for me, Kirishima stays exactly where he belongs: a compelling character, not a romantic ideal.

Overall, Yakuza Fiancé is a solid watch if you like morally gray dynamics and intense characters, just don’t expect a clean, healthy romance or a finished emotional arc (at least not yet).

Fun. Interesting. Messy.

And very clearly fiction.

Why Levi Feels Like Stability in a Chaotic World

There’s something about Levi that feels… safe. Not because the world around him is safe, but because he is.

When everything else in Attack on Titan spirals into chaos - betrayal, destruction, impossible choices — Levi stays steady. He doesn’t shock you with sudden moral turns or emotional breakdowns. His actions are consistent, precise, and grounded in discipline. In a story where every character is breaking apart, he’s the one quietly holding everything together. 🥹

What makes him stand out isn’t just his strength - it’s the way he holds his pain.

For example, Eren’s pain explodes outward; it burns the world to make sense of it.

Levi’s pain turns inward; it becomes structure, control, and quiet endurance.

He kills, but never to dominate - only to protect. He mourns, but never collapses. His grief becomes discipline, his kindness becomes restraint.

That’s why, in a world as unstable as theirs, he feels like an anchor.

He’s not the loudest, not the most dramatic, not even the “kindest” in the usual sense BUT his steadiness is a kind of kindness. He gives others a sense of safety he’ll never have himself. 🥺

💭 Maybe that’s why characters like him stand out to people who crave order, reliability, or calm. It’s not about perfection. It’s about safety.

The same reason some of us are drawn to Overhaul (me included) — the calculation, the precision, the need for control in a messy world — it’s that desire for something that doesn’t fall apart when everything else does.

Levi’s not a hero because he saves everyone.

He’s a hero because he keeps standing when there’s no one left to stand beside him. 💔

For people like me who crave calm in chaos, Levi isn’t just a favorite - he’s a mirror.

am i overthinking or does the way levi didn’t cover his eye mean something 🤔

So in the end of Attack on Titan, we see Levi with his eye gone and what struck me is that he never covers it. No eyepatch, no attempt to hide it. Meanwhile, Hange also lost her eye earlier in the series, and she did wear one.

At first I thought maybe it’s just a design choice or a different kind of injury, BUT the more I think about it, the more it feels intentional. Hange’s eyepatch fits her. She’s inventive, adaptive, always turning damage into something functional or even expressive. She builds around her wounds.

Levi, on the other hand, doesn’t build around them. He just lives with them. There’s no need to hide, no need to fix. For him, the scar isn’t something to disguise - it’s just another part of reality. He’s a man who’s stopped pretending that pain needs to look neat.

And that’s kind of Levi’s whole essence: endurance without display.

He doesn’t cover what’s broken; he carries it. Quietly, practically, without sentiment.

So maybe it’s not about the eyepatch at all - it’s about what each of them does with pain.

Hange transforms hers.

Levi vs. Eren? Honestly… why are we even comparing.

So I’ve been seeing a lot of posts where people argue about who suffered more: Levi or Eren. 🙄 And like, yes, I’m absolutely Team Levi, but… can we be real for a second?

Levi went through a lot. Eren went through a lot. Armin went through a lot. Mikasa, Hange, Annie, Zeke, Sasha - literally EVERYONE in this story went through something heavy. It just doesn’t make sense to put their pain side by side like a scoreboard.

Pain isn’t a competition.

Levi’s grief doesn’t cancel out Eren’s trauma.

Hange’s sacrifice isn’t “less” than Annie’s struggles.

They were all written with depth, they all carried suffering, and that’s what makes Attack on Titan so powerful. Every single character feels human, flawed, and alive. You can prefer one over another - that’s normal. I click more with Hange than Annie, for example, but that doesn’t mean Annie’s pain is less valid. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So yes, Levi is Levi. Eren is Eren. They both had incredible arcs. You can love whoever you want - just don’t devalue others to make your fave “win.” 🙏Because at the end of the day, every character in AOT was written to matter.

Even Zeke. Is he my favorite? Nope. But was he written brilliantly? Absolutely.

That’s what makes AOT so unforgettable - not just one character’s story, but how they all weave together.

Just finished Attack on Titan and… oh my god… 😭💔

I cried. I laughed. I screamed. This anime is a MASTERPIECE. Definitely going into my top list of all time 🤌🏻

💛 Armin & Annie - absolutely loved their arc. The quiet tenderness there was so worth it.

😏 Levi - I can’t even describe how OBSESSED I am with him. One of the best characters I’ve ever seen in anime, period. Everything that happened to him in the end just radiated pure respect. 🫡

🕊️Hange - RIP. Her death was heartbreaking but so EPIC. A truly great character. LOVE HER 🫶🏻

🧣Mikasa & Eren - FINALLY, they accepted their feelings in the end. Bittersweet but beautiful.

🤘🏻Jean, Connie & Sasha - Jean was just awesome and chill, Connie was great, and Sasha… god, I still feel so bad. Losing her hurt so much. 🥹

This show changed me. While watching, I kept shifting between hating characters, then understanding them, then feeling empathy, and finally loving them. That’s what makes it so brilliant - it shows humanity in all its flaws and strengths.

I didn’t want it to end. But now that it has… wow. Just wow. 🥹

Smart, witty, probably fun at parties… but emotionally stable? Absolutely not. He gives me “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” vibes. Might flirt, disappear for three days, and then send a cryptic meme at 2 a.m.; He will destroy you, but in style 💅🏻

Dating Verdict: 🚩 but I’d risk it once and regret it forever.

🟢 Akihiko Nirei - Green Flag (with potential)

Sweet, socially okay, a bit nerdy, and actually kind. Might be awkward at first, but he’d remember your coffee order forever. Lacks leadership a bit, so he’s more of a slow-burn romance, perfect if you’re younger or just want something low-pressure.

Dating Verdict: Maybe… or maybe not. Depends if you can wait for him to bloom. 🤷🏼‍♀️

🟢 Hajime Umemiya - Full Green Flag

Leader, strong, emotionally open, fun, supportive… basically your therapist, best friend, and boyfriend all in one. Only flaw (in my opinion): he’s very extroverted, so be ready for constant social energy.

Dating Verdict: Marry him. Immediately.

🟢 Toma Hiragi - Green Flag

Looks tough, heart of gold. Would probably defend your honor in a fight and then awkwardly carry your groceries home. 🫶🏻

Levi is such a crush… but let’s be honest, he’s a total red flag. 😅

I know, I know, we all want him to be a green flag because imagining him being soft and emotionally open just for YOU would be amazing.

The reason he’s so attractive is because his character is this perfect mix: a great leader, extremely strong, calm, attentive, calculated, intense. To think he would only like you? It feels SOOO exceptional. I totally get the crush, I have it too haha

But here’s the thing - he’s emotionally cold and detached. A “date” with him would probably look like:

Stay. Drink tea. Talk.

If he could give more warmth and actually open up emotionally, he’d definitely be THE ONE. 💔
