This is Abstracted Caine Side Story 1 !!
I can imagine this taking place between parts 6 and 7 of the abstracted caine comic, but I can also just see this as an alternative scenario to Pomni finding Caine when he's crawling towards the cellar (i.e. not canon, an au of an au if you will LOL).
Pacing could be better but I only had a little time to work on this today and I mainly wanted to draw Caine screaming in pain, so mission accomplished 🙂↕️
I think this little argument between them showcases more directly the animosity they have in a way that the cast wouldn't really get to see. I think Caine's disposition in the main comic is more nervous and wanting to perform for the cast that his anger and resentment towards what he's actually doing doesn't come through as much.
But when he's around Kinger, he drops the act because he knows Kinger wouldn't be able to tell anybody what he saw anyways (or so he thought, cough cough part 9). I also think this dynamic explains why Kinger gives up when trying to get information out of Caine that first night when he and Pomni found him in his office--he knows Caine isn't going to tell him things with Pomni there.
As I said you can take this as being canon in the AU or just an alternate scenario ^^ I'm not sure which I like more so I'll just leave it at that

SO, me and @avatarfan10 were talking the last few days about the concept of, what if Abel actually got essentially brain Damage when he fell, instead of just a concussion.
The AU got dark very fast.
Brief explanation of the Au↓
So when Abel falls from Caine's hands and hits the ground, he doesn't get back up. The cast think he'll wake up eventually (which he does) so they lock him in one of the spare human rooms. Chaining him to a bed and leaving him there while they try and figure out what to do with him.
Abel wakes up. But something is very wrong. Naturally, he's very disoriented, but it's quiet, far too quiet and he can't see anything besides light and dark, and the brightness of the room makes his head pain far worse.
When the cast comes back and see's Abel awake, they try and ask him questions, but he won't answer, and there's obviously something deeply wrong with him but they can't figure out what.
And Abel, despite the seemingly iron tight lid on his emotions, is rightfully terrified. He thinks the humans did something to him, he knows they're angry at him, but he can't hear or see them, he doesn't know what's going on, and he's chained up.
Eventually the cast have no choice but to let Caine try and talk to Abel when they can't get any response from him no matter how hard they try.
Caine manages to figure out why Abel won't respond and why he's so scared, and with a bit of convincing, everyone (well, almost everyone and it's rather reluctant) comes to the decision that keeping a crippled, blind, deaf man locked up is inhumane, even if he did awful things.
