One of my favorite visual gags is drawing a passive/bubbly character with cartoon-y style eyes, but changing their eyes to be realistic whenever something annoys them:

will i ever fight for anything in my life as hard as the writers of “mamma mia here we go again” did to get the song “fernando” to make sense in the movie

Every time you guys make those cute jokey joke posts about how you have to scroll forever to get to the real recipe, I die a little inside
We live in a world that all but refuses to pay women for engaging in the arts because misogyny. So they either find one creative outlet, or find a way to monetize their art, and yalls internalized misogyny really Jumps Out
LMAO
when youre an upper middle class white woman but you want to be oppressed really bad so you Go Off on twitter at people skipping your 3 page rants that theyre obligated to read (and enjoy) bc you performed the emotional labor of having a recipe blog

lil nas x finding out he’s an industry plant
Help, I’ve fallen down due to the feels produced by this one video and I cannot get up.
I’m rewatching this and the reason I love it because this shows how seeing someone like you can help you exponentially. This little boy, he’s two, and he can’t comprehend a lot of things but he can comprehend that Blake Leeper is like him. That means he is not alone, there is someone like him.
Shit I might cry now
would much like to point out that the people publishing these articles are trying to needle millennials into treating gen z with the same disgusting vitriol we were treated with.
don’t buy it.
our younger brothers and sisters might eat a tide pod and get us blamed for it, but we have more in common with them than we ever had with boomers or gen x.
they are terrified of the things we can do together. remember that.
The Kids are Alright.
THIS. Do not fall for this Buzzfeed bullshit.
I have seen easily 20+ “articles” over the last two weeks of “Gen Z Hates Millennials for This” and “Millennials ROAST Gen Z Over xyz” and it’s just garbage.
We’re all rooting for each other. Act like it.
I feel like at this point Millenials are established as the lousy older sibling and Gen Z are the super punk kids who are going to run the world.
I mean, from a Millenial perspective, Gen Z are just the dystopian heroes we grew up reading about and always wanted to be and at this point we're all just ready to let them take over and protect them from the wrath of Boomers.
Also, they obviously don't think we're cool. They're overthrowing the government while we're soccer mom-ing from the sidelines
Despite every moment of life being indescribably precious and a wondrous mystery, I will spend it caring about dividends and how many rental properties I have.
Rich people are truly dead inside.
There’s a line there that kinda sticks out at me:
“The plan was to grow our money so we could feel financially secure enough to have a baby.”
This is a couple that’s already worth three million dollars. They own their own home. They have a passive monthly income of $12.5k without lifting a single finger, and he can make $30k/mo working for 60 hours. To put that in normal 40-hour weeks, this means that he works until mid-May, takes the rest of the year off, and makes five hundred and sixty thousand dollars for his trouble, on top of the three million they already have and any income she might have.
tl;dr: That’s a lot of fucking money for very little effort.
And these people are scared. They think that thisisn’t enough money for them to raise a child
Capitalism will always keep you feeling hungry and desperate and on the edge of collapse. It runs on people feeling that way, and it will never let you go no matter how loyally you serve it.
Water is wet
yay I’m glad they did a study!
here’s the article link, dated 16 March 2020
for the record the study mostly focuses on energy consumption from travel + cooking & heating in private homes. results say that “in transport the richest tenth of consumers use more than half the energy”, while in cooking and heating “the top 10% of consumers used roughly one third of the total, presumably reflecting the size of their homes.”
heavy focus also on how the standard of living in the US & European countries is such that we consume WAY more energy than anyone else, by a truly ridiculous and astronomical degree.
Please make "yay I'm glad they did a study!" a more common reaction than "WATER IS WET." The “LOL DUHHHHH” attitude reinforces the attitude that researchers are clueless to the “real world” and “wasting” resources to study things we “already know,” as if they were just too self-righteous to walk down the street and ask a “normal” person to tell them some obvious truth about the world. The correct reaction is to thank the people who worked hard to support what you “already knew” with hard data and numbers. They are literally helping and supporting what we keep saying, and they are often doing so for relatively meager pay to boot.
It’s been 10 years since this iconic awkward interview.
