okay but for real mrs flood theories talk again, i have a listing of most to least likely in my thoughts

1. fenric (basically my only actual theory)

2. the valeyard (don't want it to be unless it's post-trial for her as well but lines up with some points abt mrs flood)

3. the rani. exactly the kind of character rtd would love to play around with. a decent amount of little evidence here too

4. black guardian. somewhat fits, could be really fun.

just putting this out there on record prior to the finale (lucky day is the latest ep as of this post)

i think mrs flood is fenric.

the hiding, the aura of vile evilness, promising to tear down the kingdom of heaven, etc etc.

she asks cherry if she believes in the power of prayer (faith being a HUGE aspect of 'the curse of fenric')

the companion for the season has multiple time shenanigans happening with her situation. she has a tangential connection to this doctor through mundy flynn. she was found by the doctor because of someone (conrad) who's life was influenced by his eventual adventures with her. and that someone is now being recruited by flood herself. ace also ended up traveling with the doctor due to fenric schemes.

and conrad is giving "wolf of fenric" vibes or just a general servant like the ancient one (someone with a genetic link to fenric or someone who's timeline has been manipulated into meeting/serving them). flood was excited about the vindicator and next we see of the doctor and belinda, they're meeting young conrad.

how do you top the king of a pantheon as your season finale threat? the primordial force of evil from the dawn of time.

i think i had other points of potential evidence but idr, these are the big things anways

flood could very well be a real person like professor judd who's been taken over by fenric and that's who we've seen this whole time.

im sorry but literally no version of doctor who other than the third doctor’s run has ever properly used the comedic value of the master. this man is so fucking stupid. he gets bored and watches a kids movie and mistakes puppets for an alien species. he summons a literal demon only for the demon to tell him ‘lmao the doctor’s stronger than you.’ he keeps trying to take over the world with the help of other aliens but those aliens turn against him Every Single Time and he is shocked by it Every Single Time. he calls himself ‘the master’ and yet he is befuddled and bamboozled and overthrown at literally every turn. he gets kicked in the balls. he gets arrested. he doesn’t win once and yet he keeps on trying while the doctor watches with a fucking fond smile. bring that back

he has the worst and most superfluous/needless of his disguises, he's dragged to gallifrey and forced to RESCUE THE DOCTOR AND NONE OF THEM BELIEVE HIM, he spends all of the five doctors being clowned on and when he FINALLY has a shot at winning he's decked in the face and sent off to god knows where, the last five sees of him he's burned alive (and this was after being SHRUNK DOWN BECAUSE OF HIS OWN DUMB LITTLE EXPERIMENT)

Truly bizarre how people say The Doctor's numbering is fucked when you can have whole scholarly debates about like almost every aspect of The Master's incarnations. And honestly The Master's are even more straightforward because there aren't really any "hidden" incarnations or anything, it all depends on what media you choose to follow.

Is Delgado the first or the twelfth or the thirteenth Master? We do have two actors playing the First Master so far but one is the kid era and the other won't be doing it anymore because the actor is a transphobe sooooo who knows.

Is he the decayed incarnation or not?

What counts as the Thirteenth Master? Riger Delgado? Peter Pratt AND/OR Geoffrey Beevers? Anthony Ainley and Eric Robert's? Lest we mention the times that The Master has reverted into the Decayed Form. Or the question mark that is Gordon Tipple.

At least the newer incarnations are simpler! We just don't know what the actual numbering is since we haven't had a regeneration between Macqueen and Jacobi yet or between Simm and Missy although it's implied. And we got an explanation of Missy regenerating which was COMPLETELY UNRELATED to The Madter returning to the show and somehow they fit perfectly together.

This show is insane and I love it.

why is there such a big thing in dw fandom that people think the companion needs to be relatable to the audience. do u not sometimes want to see someone in completely different circumstances/with different traits and flaws to u. personally i would find it incredibly boring if i could relate to every single companion
