I was today years old when I learned that you're incredibly attractive. Respectfully? Wow.
(Sorry for the alt account, my main has people who know me in real life and don't need to know when I get a crush.)
Anyway, that's all. I promise I won't be crazy or anything, i just had to let you know you're amazing
this is wild thank u
you should spend your time looking for fish rabies. With the recent discovery of frog and anole lyssaviruses, I truly beleive there is some sorth of icthyolyssavirus. but I don't have the time to look.
hey, everyone, I also want to clarify that looking for rabies is fun, free, and you can do it from home as long as you have a computer with enough RAM.
You can download brains online for free and there is a online opensource program called Galaxy you can use to run them against lysavirus proteins to see if there are any known or unknown lyssaviruses in brains.
There are so many unidentified lyssaviruses out there simply because we are not looking. because there is so little funding for rabies. So you gotta just do it for the love of the game.
i got a 4k monitor and is this why every gui ever has looked so cramped for years. once again i think software should be developed on the oldest CPUs possible with integrated graphics and 1080p monitors
sincerely,
i daily drove an hp compaq elite with an intel duo 2-core CPU (released in 2008), from 2022 until two weeks ago and for a time connected to a 1600x900 monitor. old hardware not only exists but STILL FUNCTIONS and bears real workloads. i shipped python packages from that thing. open source means, among many things, anyone can make software from computers not paid for by a startup or a tech giant
i wish usb ports were several magnitudes larger and made a hefty "kerchunk" sound when you plugged stuff in
exciting new innovations in software engineering, they've managed to come up with something worse than 'just paste this random curl command into your terminal'
the offending file: https://github.com/0xeb/ghidrasql/blob/main/install-prompt.md
what's sad is, this is actually a decent installation guide. but it could have just...been that. feed this to a human. or fill the gaps with glue and turn it into a pair of scripts, or write a dockerfile. just... why would you go to all the work of...writing a decent install guide...just to feed it to the lying machine from hell, which you have presumably given privileged shell access on your machine. why. like i get why. i just... i'm tired. i'm just tired.

just watched a vtuber do smash or pass through the mcmaster carr catalog and in the process learned that you can EDFA your way to space
That sounds sick, was there a vod?
I just sent it to my coworker lol: https://m.twitch.tv/videos/2839801652

yesterday i had the delight of teaching two little autistic kids how to mod minecraft, and it was the first time either of them had even opened the file explorer on their laptops. they installed a gun mod and a jujutsu kaisen mod, then flew around in creative mode shooting things with rockets and bullets and giant energy balls. i got to teach them how to use a keyboard, what programs and files are, what a browser is, how to navigate the computer and what all the words mean. it was really beautiful seeing their faces light up as they began to figure stuff out on their own. the last thing i did before i left was teach them how to seek out their own preferred games and mods and install them by themselves. they were talking about running a server together and playing with their friends, even teaching their friends how to add mods so they could all play together. i nearly cried.
I actually can't believe this is real. I thought my laptop had been slowing down recently which made me very sad because I paid good money for it, and for what? Just for it to struggle with multiple browser tabs, at less than 1 years of age?? But then I switch to Linux. My computer barely even uses the fan, no matter what tomfoolery I'm up to. It turns out that windows runs so many trackers, ads, bloatware and whatnot in the background that a good 30-40% of my CPU went to just running the OS. And apparently that is not normal, it's only windows that does this. Like fuck, forget buying new hardware, just switch to Linux for a free, massive performance boost. This is actually insane.

i bet it feels so good for a computer to delete windows off of it and replace it with linux. like rescuing it from a shitty living situation and letting it finally feel safe and loved

The internet of things has gone too far.
reminder that if all your serial devices seem haunted you might have updated your kernel and not rebooted.
we're moving to an internet where children would be banned from reaching out for help and friendship online but abusive parents can post their children's every second online to humiliate and expose them for money with no pushback
