I remember seeing this post on radblr a while ago (if you know the op please don't tag them. It's possible they changed their opinion and I don't want them getting unnecessary hate) basically saying in the name of bodily autonomy it's okay for women to abort disabled children

This could be my personal feelings as a disabled woman but it felt very similar to eugenics

If you're pregnant and the minute you find out your child isn't "perfect" you decide to abort it that's not okay

What's going to happen if they don't pick up on a disability or the child develops a disability later on in life or are in some kind of accident that leaves the child disabled

Committing to child means committing to everything that can possibly happen

Your love for your child you're bringing into the world should be unconditional regardless

Eugenics it's the search for the "perfect" human. It's a project on actuality, not hypothetical.

All of the eugenics programs have included forced pregnancies for experimenting to get whatever perfect man they wanted. The thing about eugenics is that... It requires the mother and father to already be perfect in their eyes. That's why the American government sterilizes migrant women, Puerto Rican and black women have historically been sterilized as part of the eugenics American program. They are not "able" to conceive the perfect man because they themselves are not perfect in their eyes. I say man because all the eugenic programs I've read about are male centered.

The Nazi eugenics program also relied on the forced pregnancies of Polish women aka rape them and keep them as incubators. They wanted to create more Aryan men what they considered the perfect race.

As you can see, eugenics is a program that part from the idea that achieving the perfect man its possible. It requires forced pregnancies of the women suited to conceive the "seed of the perfect man" and the sterilization of bad women to not "spoil the blood"

A single woman terminating a pregnancy is not Eugenics as she isn't doing it to conceive the perfect man or to eliminate the lesser races. Do you know why the other part of eugenics is? Yes, it's killing the races you deem unworthy. That's what makes it bad. (besides the forced pregnancies ofc) Eugenics are not only breeding the perfect man. It's also killing everyone who isn't. Is the woman actively instauring institutions to monitor forced pregnancies and not only terminating those that she don't like but killing the women that can't breed the perfect baby? Is she also killing what she deems inferior?

That why alongside eugenics programs there are always genocides and mass sterilizations.
