Transandrophobia is real and non-transmascs don’t get to define our own lived experiences & vocabulary for us. It does not imply transmisogyny is somehow less important or real. If you disagree with one or both statements, go away.

Not the kind of content I usually write about, but I’m tired of being told that I am evil for being a man, and doubly so if I dare to claim that maybe the intersection of my masculinity with my other marginalized identities IS a unique form of oppression. So I am making my own post.

If you can (correctly) recognize it’s disgusting and wrong to label transfems as the foremost oppressors of transmascs, please for the love of god stop turning around and saying transmascs are the primary oppressors of transfems. Yes, we are men. But we are also trans.

It’s really funny; I actually saw a post about how deciding another minority group is the biggest issue attracts the wrong kind of people, and I thought others were finally waking up to the vitriolic hate of transmasc people in The Discourse TM. You can read posts about your sisters’ suffering and support them wholeheartedly, and tumblr will assume you want to see posts that tell you that you are a disgusting person with the exact same tags. It’s the same issue we’ve been facing on this website. For a long time.

tl;dr Transmisogyny is real. Transandrophobia/anti-transmasculinity/transandromisia or whichever word we are allowed to have is real. hey, if you as a transandrophobe would like to know why trans men/transmascs use transandrophobia or transandromisia to discuss their oppression, "transphobia" is too vague a word for the specifics of certain transphobia that only trans men and transmascs face. "misogyny" often does not encompass the full experience of the oppression trans men and transmascs are subject to, especially when their masculinity is used against them in the form of malgendering. hope this helps

Being a trans man is a very lonely thing and I feel like not a lot of people talk about that Trans men are in this weird limbo where you're either 'too feminine' for cis people and they treat you in a mix of transphobia and misogyny because they only see you as your asab or you're 'too masculine' for trans people and are expected to just sit down and shut up and never try to talk about the specific issues you face as a trans person because there's this weird idea that as soon as a trans man comes out or is on hormones, suddenly he's the same as a cis man and can't possibly experience discrimination

Trans liberation will never be accomplished if our community can’t understand that sex is as much of a made up false binary as gender is. I’m serious. “Sex” is just a set of terms for a group of phenotypic traits sorted into two boxes for the ease and comfort of cis and perisex people. It’s arbitrary. We’ve only clung to the idea that sex correlates with gender because that made deciding who was or was not worth personhood easier to enforce. Anyone of any gender can have- and enjoy having- a particular sex-associated trait. Whether it’s their genitalia, their chest, their dominant hormones, any of it, it doesn’t matter. Everyone should have the right to change those traits for any reason at any time, without exception. Transmedicalism is a doomed strategy aiming to assimilate trans identity into the existing gender/sex binary that will never succeed, because we are all considered a threat to the system no matter how much we try to reproduce the status quo. You will never be acceptable to transphobes, you can only stand united against them with the “trenders” and the “theyfabs” or you will be thrown aside as soon as we’re out of the picture. Reject all binaries.

Off the cuff from some stuff I saw on the fyp: seeing a trans man with a uterus tattoo and thinking it’s aimed at you personally by calling it a “ywnbaw tattoo” (i hate that i even have to know what this 4chan nonsense means) is just treating trans men’s bodies as public property. A trans man’s relationship to his own uterus, an organ that HE has had in HIS body for as long as he's been alive, and any piece of art he may produce or relate to or any body modification he may get to express this relationship, is not a statement about or against you. Anyone who photographed it without his consent, commented on it, criticized him, and especially the commenters who called it a "ywnbaw tatto" or compated it to N*zi symbols, saw themselves as within their rights as a member of the social contract to criticize that man's choice of what to do with his own body in a censorious way. You can only express this intellectual position, while considering it to be a normal and acceptable statement no less, if you view the bodies of trans men as equivalent to a community bulletin or the wall of a public building. That is, if you view our bodies as public property.

This is misogyny, plain and simple.
