abnormally large trees please lend me some of your centuries worth of wisdom
Just tried to play an ancient flute and it started filling the room with this awful miasma that wont go away
Why does staff still allow people funnier than you to leave tags on your posts. They should have fixed that by now
Tumblr is really interesting because you can say something like thursday is duck with a top hat day, and half the website will reblog it
Duck in a Top Hat Thursday, y’all!
The big day
I'm not going to lie, I teared up a bit when drawing Loid crying 🥺
This idea came from a beautiful insta reel where a papa is listening to her daughters audio before his bride (mummy) walks down the aisle. When I saw it I just couldn't help but imagine Anya and Loid. Of course I had to add his beautiful bride (beautiful like Anya ❤️)
I didn't forget my good boy Bond! 😭 I just didn't know how to add him at the time. But don't worry, he will appear more.
My family deserves real happiness, that's what I wanted to convey here. 🥺❤️ I'm hoping they get it in the end!
me mentally: these characters have a relationship that cannot be defined by any one thing and reaches throughout the narrative and is so woven into their characters that trying to force it under one label would be inaccurate and doing it a disservice.
me out loud: idk man they're fuckin gay
don't worry i don't actually thirst over any of these characters (they lied)
ai does not belong in creative spaces. period.

There’s no way this is the maximally efficient way to do this
You would think, but actually it is one of the best ways. You know how there’s always a significant amount of unpopped kernels in the bottom of the bag or pan? This method pops basically all of it.
This is also the method for making puffed rice.
Let’s be real. You like it because it is basically a popcorn shotgun.

what's a tumblr influencer? what am i influencing? my mental illness? 😭
just learned about farming simulator
I mean, I already knew about it, but I just learned about it
Did you know that the target audience for Farming Simulator is actual real-world farmers? Because I didn’t. I just assumed that farmers probably don’t want to go home from a day of farming to do some (presumably highly inaccurate) virtual farming?
Like, imagine if the target audience for Power Washing Simulator was actual professional power washers.
Farming Sim gets sponsored by companies and shit to put ads in their games. But since the game is for farmers, all of the ads target farmers. Advertising products that, realistically, only farmers would be interested in. Aka John Deere tractors and shit.
There’s a fucking farming sim esports league. Where do they play? Agriculture conventions. not gaming conventions. agriculture conventions.
post cancelled this is way funnier
I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.
I eat it up every time, it brings such a smile to my face
there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.
if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.
this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.
of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?
boaty.
Ok but you need to understand that if your business has shareholders, this is literally illegal.
In the U.S. it is federal law that a business must do everything within its power--including environmental damage and worker exploitation--to maximize investor profits every year, or those shareholders are entitled to sue the business and it will be dismantled to pay what they are legally owed.
Shareholders have too many rights.
The system needs to be overhauled massively, but shareholders should be able to sue for less and should be able to be sued (and prosecuted) for more.
You want to invest? Fine. That's what you're doing, and that's all you're doing. If you don't like the business's plans or how they handle their money, you sell your stock and go someplace else. You take the dividend payout you're given, and you're the last person in line when handing out money.
Your investment doesn't work out? That's what gambling is. Better luck next time.
We also need a law that says that if a company is convicted of a crime, it's board of directors and CEO are automatically guilty of committing that crime via conspiracy, and subject to the "for humans" laws rather than the "for companies."
That means if Wal-Mart steals millions in worker wages, the CEOs and Board are prosecuted as if they'd robbed a bank of that same amount. If Hobby-Lobby smuggles artifacts, the people at the top are prosecuted as smugglers and thieves. If a company dumps toxic waste into a river against regulations, well, if any individual human did it, we'd call them a terrorist.
And we need a law that makes it so that companies that settle with the government cannot admit "no wrongdoing".
This is also why enshittification begins almost immediately when a startup goes public.
This is not true. Companies may say its true, shareholders may say its true, but under US law, companies are not legally required to maximise shareholder profits.
This is misinformation! If you buy into it, it only strengthens the myth that companies must prioritise investor profits above all else.
You can blame Milton Friedman, the inventor of neoliberalism, for this legal mythmaking.
Let's look at a US Supreme Court Judgement: 'modern corporate law does not require for-profit corporations to pursue profit at the expense of everything else'.
There are also laws in over forty states explicitly allowing companies to consider non-shareholder interests!
Anyway. Shareholder primacy is an economic perspective, not law!
rlly funny reblog. i have news idk if you want to hear
