New York, New York: Staten Island Ferry
Another free activity in NYC is the Staten Island ferry. It’s a nice break from walking or riding the subway, but a good deal further south than other tourist attractions.
I had thought about taking the ferry to Ellis island, but I was told later that the State of Liberty may no longer be open due to repairs. I thought I had seen enough though on this ferry ride and was satisfied with my decision.
After completely walking around it the first time, I finally found Times Square!
