I did this to myself honestly. I love volleyball and I thought what’s the harm ? Idiot. Idiot.

So I was watching the Karasuno vs Abobjosai volleyball first match in the tournament and I love Oikawa as a senpai and a Captain. So when Kindaichi lost a point to Hinata this moment happened between him and Oikawa

Kindaichi was conditioned to believe that everything was his fault. Oikawa obviously realizes this and is definitely trying to reverse that conditioning.

I like to think that Kindaichi's situation is one of the reasons Oikawa is so hostile towards Kageyama, (though that's just a personal theory, it's never been confirmed or proven) considering that Oikawa was also personally affected by him and he knows kind of what Kindaichi is going through.

This is also not an anti-Kageyama post. I’m simply trying to put Kindaichi in a new perspective in the most unbiased way I can. I’m only putting information I found from research into this post. Thank you.

Kindaichi is undoubtedly my favorite character in Haikyuu. He’s also one of-what I consider to be- the top most misunderstood characters. No matter the reason for it, a pretty significant chunk of the Haikyuu fandom seems to have a bias against him. And while I can’t force anyone to change their opinion on his character, I’d like to try to describe some of his actions and reactions in another perspective.
