Do you have any posts discussing the idea of Elena leading Stefan and Damon on? Itâs something thatâs being said about her a lot lately in the TVD fandom and I just donât get it myself. I have my issues with Elena but I never felt like she was leading Damon on, and the only time I felt like she was maybe doing that towards Stefan was in season 5 when she was trying to jog his memories. What do you think?

With the news about the CW I am just sitting here thinking about how every show, ship, and character I adored that were ruined over the years by showrunners are finally getting JUSTICE.

These dudes really took one of the most beloved and successful webshows there were, announced itâs end, let the internet mourn, and then two weeks later went âpsyche.â Theyâre doing the exact same thing except on their channel and their terms. They get to make more money and steal what was probably the biggest audience Buzzfeed had for themselves. I love this. Chaotic good at its strongest. I hope Buzzfeed furious

ANOTHER BIG THING INTERNATIONAL VIEWERS MAY NOT PICK UP FOR SQUID GAME:
any viewer for squid game will understand that each game/round in the show are all childhood games from korea. this is well known.
but a smaller, unsubtle nod to another korean classic is actually the very last episode. it's titled 'A Lucky Day' or in korean 'ě´ě ě˘ě ë '. a modern classical literature text written by a korean author in 1924 about a rickshaw driver who went out to work despite his sick wife's protests, had a unusually lucky day and earned enough money, but upon returning home found his wife dead.
a big symbolism noted in the book itself is its showcase of rain and the wife's yearning (for warm broth). the very last game/battle between gihun and sangwoo ends in rain. when gihun returns home its raining heavily. gihun gets fish (well albeit rather reluctantly takes it from sangwoo's mom) for his own mother only to find her dead. despite how the games initially seems favourable in gihun's part, his world ends up rotten to the core when he returns back home. everyone he cared for now died.
i just feel like the director-writer made it such that the whole plot is a big nod to old korean classics (be it games or literature) and i just didnt see this noticed in social media so just wanted to share this! very happy to see such symbolism of korean literature in squid game.
p.s. anyone notice that both junho and inho, the two brothers, are actually playing hide-and-seek throughout the showâ đđ
People will watch things like parasite and squid game, media that blatantly calls out capitalism and the effect that it has on the lower class and still come out of it like "wow I can't believe poor people are morally bad because they're poor and there's no other outside influence"
So I'm not sure how to even word this ask, and I'm sorry if you've answered this in some form. But when I bring up SE to friends who have watched tvd they'll basically tell me they never cared for SE because they never had/got to anticipate them BEFORE they get together officially (making DE an exciting unknown to "anticipate"). So it's not quite the "they had no development" comment, if anything it feels more like the "no angst" critique where nuance is lost on some. And it's funny, I get what they mean in theory because I generally prefer a "slowburn" and pre-ship anticipation, but I also have trouble (and get annoyed lol) trying to explain why I don't think SE are missing that *anticipation* element AT ALL? And I was thinking, when it comes to development I don't personally consider SE stable or even together until mid/late S1, so I feel like there is a kind of anticipation? But more than that, I wonder if you would agree that the 'yearning' and/or 'longing' within SE, and never being at peace, is comparable to anticipation??? I hope I explained this well and it's not a dumb ask, even though I guess it's another side of the "a love at first sight fastburn isn't as interesting", but I wondered if you had any thoughts/analysis on any of this?
i get what youâre saying. so, thereâs a difference between saying there is no longing, anticipation or angst and there is no slow burn.

the anticipation comes from the fact that stefan is a vampire and has these secretsÂ
and what will elena do when she finds outÂ
and how will stefan respond
which brings us to the angst because there are the obstacles that threaten them from being together despite the fact that they really want to be togetherÂ
just because theyâre established as the love story from the pilot doesnât mean they donât have twists and turns that threaten their actually being together. slow burns donât have a monopoly on intrigueÂ
