Things players can do to leave their guy high and dry and show that he doesn’t have support of the team:

Don’t pass him the puck

Don’t get in position to receive the puck

He has to do breakaways on his own because there’s no one to pass to

Don’t fight the guy who throws a nasty hit on your guy — very easy signal of lack of support! Your guys should want to beat up the asshole who bloodied your guy!

Don’t cover the opposing player so guys from opposing swam him when he has possession of the puck

You cannot legally hit someone if they aren’t in possession of the puck. There’s no ‘taking hits in your guys place.’ Like you can protect him (more importantly the puck) but to a point.

Defensemen defend the net and advance the puck. Their job is not to defend the forwards.

Like IDK on this one issue I’m kind of like stop trying to write about conflict in the locker room bleeding out onto the ice if you don’t know what you’re talking about! You can just avoid talking about the hockey of it all. It’s totally fine. If you want to talk hockey, please watch a primer lol.
