i hate adhd dopamine-rush fakeout crushes because i’ll get into an impulsive relationship only to realize that as much as i care about the person its not a sustainable relationship and i actually am not head over heels for them they were just somewhat unknown to me and i was romanticizing them because it gave me dopamine and adrenaline and that was addictive to my dopamine-deficient brain

anyways i finally recognized that pattern and broke the cycle so now i’ve been single with no crushes of any kind whatsoever for a few months but it’s lowkey borrriiiiiing…

Wanted to get diagnosed mainly to prove myself and everyone else that I don’t just suck at life, I have an actual problem. Now after a lifetime of trauma and self-hatred plus half a decade of medical and interpersonal gaslighting, turns out it’s both.

This. This was literally me getting diagnosed.

Me: "I think there's something wrong with me."

Everyone else: "No, there isn't, you just suck."

Me: "...But I really think there is. I can't study at home without supervision, I loose my lunch chip all the time, I do my homework at school because I forget to do them at home, and I can't seem to make friends no matter how much I try. Most people don't struggle this much."

Everyone else: "Pretty sure you just aren't trying hard enough. Nobody else has any trouble keeping track of these things, so you failing to do them is either ignorant or malicious. And you've demonstrated multiple times that you aren't ignorant, so that means you're trying to hurt people around you."

Me: "No! I'm not trying to hurt anyone!"

Everyone else: "And yet you do hurt those around you. Repeatedly, and in ways that were entirely preventable. How delusional are you to not understand that you're just a bad person? No wonder you're alone."

The relief from all that guilt was incredible. It's still an uphill battle, but at least I am now sure my opponent isn't a windmill.

YES!!! I am physically incapable of having a mild opinion. Either I do not have an opinion at all, or I feel very strongly on the issue. But my argumentative skills are too shit for me to win most arguments, so I usually just kinda sit there internally screaming, and then act like a bitch for seemingly no reason (upset over disagreement & inability to articulate my position).

Though there are some differences between me and my friends I begrudgingly accept.
