DeterminationDess and the other (unnamed) Theory
this is a crazy long post so get ready
So, the first theory I have is that Dess is dead. Or at least her body is, since we know from undertale that a monster CAN survive a fatal hit with determination, just like Undyne, but it does permanent damage to their body. I think that Dess, following the Tail of Hell (friend), died in the forest.
(maybe we'll find her once we find the light world roots location, maybe she really is in the bunker or maybe in the lake)
BUT with either determination or the help of Gaster/Friend her soul is still alive, and I think that it's within Asriel's body.
My theory is that either Asriel went with Dess in the Woods, or was the one that found her. She now possesses him. I think that in chapter five Asriel will let SOMETHING slip that indicates to Kris that there's still something left of Dess.
In parallel to how We as the Soul possess Kris.
So if Asriel’s soul isn't fully in his body, then where is it?
well, fellow crazy deltarune fans, I present to you
I think that the roaring Knight is the dark world manifestation of Asriel's own emotions and relationships.(you could say hopes and dreams)
I do not believe in Dessknight, as I honestly cannot find a reason for why Dess would go out of her way to willingly work with friend and gaster to create the roaring.
BUT I do think that someone who's depicted as an angry/sad “crying, crying, crying boy” would have the strong emotions in him to wreck havoc and possibly end the world. Besides, Asriel literally does this in the pacifist run of undertale.
now, branching into the other unnamed (for now) theory. I think that Kris is not the first hero of the prophecy, at least not when accompanied by Ralsei and Susie. I think THE SOUL is. Therefore we'd have the soul as “the cage, with human bits and parts” where the soul is a cage for US as the player, being humans just like Kris, Ralsei is the Prince, Susie is the girl.
I think Kris is the cage with another trio. That of Them, Dess and Asriel. Now bear with me. This would imply that the roles of the prophecy don't necessarily apply to the heroes' genders. but i feel like the prophecy still applies to dess/asriel/Kris, just that it's accurate to the new soul/asriel/susie genders, as they're the one that are fully enacting it.
we'd have Dess as the Prince, alone in the deepest dark.
I think this is pretty clear, at least to me, as Dess is either alone in the deepest dark as in she's literally dead, or alone in the deepest dark as in she's somewhere where no one would find her. maybe in the code, maybe in roots, maybe buried somewhere. following determinationDess you can also draw the parallel that she and Ralsei both don't have physical (or alive) bodies in the light world.
I dont think that asriel is a direct parallel to ralsei as i dont think that tricky toby over here would make a think so easy and on the nose.
That leaves us with Asriel being the girl, with hope crossed on her heart. There are a lot of things to back this: Both from undertale and deltarune. In undertale Asriel's main music is “hopes and dreams” you could say that just like Susie he hopes to one day either see Dess again or at least avenge her. Also, if we are to believe that Asriel really is possessed by Dess, then all I've said goes out the window and it does become a Girl, with hope crossed on her heart.
here's a little visual representation since I doubt in my abilities to explain this clearly
Following this Theory we'd have Noelle still being important in both trios, as with the Soul/Susie/Ralsei trio she's the main protagonist of the weird route, and with Kris/Dess/Asriel she's both the childhood best friend of Kris, and the sister of Dess. Therefore she is of importance in both cases.
“But why two trios?” you may ask, well, I think that Kris is suffering the same things that Asriel suffered. Both of them are possessed, both of them are knights (if my AsrielKnight theory is true) both of them have lost/are losing a good friend, via the weird route in Kris’ case (and both Dess and Noelle are from the Holiday family).
I also just realized that the reason Asgore would be aware of all of this and why he'd be so determined to find Dess is because his own son suffered the consequences or told him about it. What if he's trying to prove that Dess is alive via Asriel.
could “the flower man, trapped in asylum” refer to Asriel's soul, being trapped in the knight? and could Asgore suffer the same fate as his own son, going insane trying to prove it?
So yeah, that's all I have for now, I'm completely open for discussion and I hope this post gets a lot of views so we can all go crazy together on what all of this means! I humbly ask of thee to maybe like and repost so more people can find this!
Also, if someone has cool recommendations for the name of the second theory please write it in the comments, as I cannot for the life of me come up with a good name💔 thank you all for listening to me ramble on and on,
