smaugust - afterthoughts

so after keeping up for a fair bit, I discontinued the challenge like 5 days before it ended, oh well. I still learned a couple of things

- one picture a day is not how I work. I can do “30 minutes a day” or something like that, but with a life that is pretty much full of stuff, it is hard to commit to a whole finished picture if you work as slowly as I do and have a low tolerance for frustration

- I blame picking up mass effect again

- I like drawing dragons, but I like drawing other stuff as well

- this gave me the opportunity to try out media I don’t usually use, like the ink pens or more watercolour, which was nice

- will try again with inktober, but right now I am glad I don’t feel the “pressure” of feeling like I have to “deliver” something each day (self inflicted, I know, but still)

- on another note how is karptember not a thing

My plan was to do a much more glorious picture of this guy, but time management is not my strongest trait so all was I able to do was a coloured sketch

someone once wrote about Volga that he is not evil, he just has anger management issues, and I think they might be on to something there

so a dragon shapeshifting into a guy with a spear and plate armour. it really doesn’t get much better
