The angelic hybrid casually pulled out her pocketbook and slipped four twentyâs out of the sleeve. Wearing on her features was a subtle, sparkling smile. âGo for it.â
Ezra doesnât even wait for his sister to verbally egg him on once she flashes the cash. Immediately Ezra swings at the stranger standing next to them on the street, his fist connecting with their jaw hard enough to knock them backwards.
archangelnathanael:
âYeah, Iâm not known for those.â
âI donât believe that for a second.â
vilesauce:
âI know,â he resigned, a lightness to his tone that was meant to alleviate the situationâs pressure. âBut that doesnât mean Iâm grateful that you donât.. at least not completely.â
âWell.. I guess thatâs fair or whatever,â Ezra granted him, and it was no small feat for him to offer Raguel even that small amount validation.Â
vilesauce:
âI donât.â
âI.. I am supposed to hate you.â
archangelnathanael:
âWeâre technically family,â he offered as a reprieve. âAnd I love you, Ezra. Unconditionally.â
âYeah,â Ezra said as a smile formed on his features. âIâm not so sure loving me unconditionally is a good life choice though.â
vilesauce:
âOkay. What would you like to do?â he offered instead. âReally?â
That question stopped Ezra in his tracks for a good minute. âI wish it was still easy to hate you,â Ezra finally admitted.
@archangelnathanael
âI know that youâre technically not my father, but youâve.. youâve always been.. a better dad than I deserve anyway. So thank you.â

Raguel silently watched the scene unfold. He didnât want to push his son any further away, which could be achieved by a vast manner of words and phrases. Truth coming out of the archangelâs mouth rarely felt as clean and pristine as his mother had hoped it would be. âWe donât have to talk,â was all he thought to offer, his voice barely above a whisper.
Ezra stared at Raguel. Waiting for him to say something, anything at all, and silently hoping that whatever it was would be something that could make him angry again. Instead Raguel said something that seemed.. understanding. Ezra couldnât even wrap his mind around it. âItâs fine,â Ezra gave his best attempt at snapping back, although his wavered, and he probably sounded more scared than angry.

âFor a fifty I would fight everyone around me in a one hundred foot radius.â
vilesauce:
âItâs fine. I like getting to talk to you.â
Ezra didnât know how to process that, not really. Ezra would never admit it, but there was a stark difference between the way he wanted to feel about Raguel and the way he actually felt when face to face with him. Especially when Raguel said things like that. Ezra felt tears on his cheek, but he couldnât even begin to understand why he would be crying. Ezra hurried to wipe them away though, quietly disgusted with himself.
vilesauce:
âIs there a point? Other than you wanting to lash out at me, like always?â
The glare Ezra gave Raguel said it all. Raguel was absolutely right about him. âShut up.â

âUsually around two oâclock.â
âHow do you deal with it?â
@skylarprice
âDo you ever just get annoyed by everyone?â
zekelitch:
Zeke found no comfort in being right, or Ezraâs surrender. He just didnât want to worry about his brother doing something rash. So, he just nodded, more than happy to put it to rest.
Ezra groaned and leaned against his big brother. âAre you hungry? Iâm hungryâ
leomvxfield:
âDoes that mean youâre not too tired for me to try and make up for this morning?â
âIf you can actually manage to turn me on, yeah, sure.â
