Facts about Homelessness in the UK
- Homeless people are 13 times more likely to be a victim of violence.
- On average homeless people only live until the age of 47.
- The main cause of homelessness is relationship break ups.
-Â Government statistics show 2,714 people slept rough in England on any one night during 2014 - a 55 per cent rise on 2010.
However, it should be noted that these figures are a snapshot taken on one night and fall well short of what local agencies report over the course of a year. In London alone, 6,508 people were reported sleeping rough during 2013/14.
Sleeping rough is a dangerous and traumatising experience. Many people who sleep rough will suffer from multiple health conditions, such as mental health problems and drug misuse they are also in greater danger of violence than the general population.
Please help spread this awareness.

NATIONALÂ CITIZENÂ SERVICE...
…or short: NCS
Hey there everyone, we are a group of young people age 16-18 volunteering as part of a programme to make a difference to issues close to us both nationally and within our community. We’ve decided we want to help the homeless, as there’s over 2000 people sleeping rough every night in Bournemouth and Poole. A statistic that just shouldn’t be allowed in a country like the UK in 2015.Â
No one should be out in the cold alone on the streets over christmas … So Follow us and reblog our posts to help us raise awareness and make an impact on this terrible issue,
Thanks and we’ll keep you posted on what we’re doing and how we’re helping! NCS team Reconnected
