Geoffrey's kiss count:
Laguz: 4
BEORC: 1!!!
Geoffrey, flabbergasted, why do people keep on mistaking him for that so-called Ephraim?
He needed to meet the man himself one day to make his own opinion.
baby steps
     ‷   mission task:  anniversary 2024 ( riding +1 )
Things have changed. Pelleas considers those words, perhaps longer than he really ought to, but he nods. Though Geoffrey sounded as if he meant it only in response to hearing Pelleas's new choice of military class, when Pelleas thinks of it on a grander scale...
Things really weren't quite the same as they had been after they'd all gone through the Tower of Guidance. Tellius's own kingdoms going through their shifts, word of the laguz tribes coming to repopulate the Serenes Forest, Begnion having many of its senators purged, Hatari coming into the public eye again, and Daein changing hands...
...But even on a personal level, this much was true too, wasn't it? The first time Pelleas had encountered Geoffrey in the woods, he had been more of a wreck, too preoccupied with his own messes to properly speak with the man. Now, though... a conversation as light-hearted as this?
The previous Pelleas couldn't imagine it, surely.
Even the knight's laughter, light and jovial as it was, was a signifier of that change. The knight had cut a severe-seeming figure in war, but this was a far cry from that. It takes Pelleas off guard a bit, but with some encouragement and the affection of the wolves reminds him what he's here for.
â Heheh... That tickles, â Â Pelleas can't help his own chuckle as the pensive look on his own face is dispelled, snacking fruits passing from his belongings and hands into the mouths of the wolves. They nuzzle against him with such cheer, Pelleas isn't quite so sure at first what to do with it, but remembering he's not the only beorc here, it snaps him out of his reverie.
â Oh! Sorry. Um, being stared at like that is a bit embarrassing... â  He must seem like all the other students so eagerly coming to see the wolves! But when they're all surrounding him like this, it's hard not to indulge.  â I'm not used to such open affection from others, so I suppose I got a little swept up with the wolves. âÂ
He tries to justify it, but he knows he's hardly being prim about... well, anything really.
â ...I think I'll take you on that offer from earlier, Sir Geoffrey. They're still crowding me, so I assume they still want more, but like you said, I should save the rest... Th-That is to say, erm... â Â Flustered, he asks, Â â W-Would you mind helping me feed them? If you don't mind...! â
Geoffrey smiled, a genuine and warm smile at the scene unfolding before his eyes. It was something he'd never thought he'd witness one day, back in Tellius, back during those terrible days.
Hearing the younger's man laugh, after the initial shyness of their reunion, the awkwardness of his words, did make the Knight kind of... happy? If his sister knew about it, she'd make fun of him, something about his big brother sickness or something.
But, he wasn't going to say it aloud, it wasn't his place to, but he was proud or Pelleas and how the Academy helped him grow... Not that he knew much about it, actually, he only came here not so long ago...
"Forgive me, I didn't mean to stare, but it was rather amusing to watch you losing against those pups." Another laugh and then a nod as Geoffrey went to fetch more of the treats destined to the little wolves (and the not so little ones patiently watching over them).
"If you'd allow me, I wouldn't mind helping you. But, I have to warm you, they don't seem to like me very much. One of them even escaped earlier today and I had to ask for Lady Ena's help to catch him."
He sat down by Pelleas's side, handing him the bag of food he promised him after stealing some for himself (to give to the wolves of course!). "So, I think you didn't tell me, which one is your wolf? If you need me to come with you for a bit, when visiting him, I wouldn't mind. Perhaps, it could help you, if only a bit?"
He didn't want to impose but wanted Pelleas to know he was there if he needed him to.
đ(not a laguz but close enough :3)
Geoffrey was frowning, not out of anger or confusion, but worry. The man (the boy?) in front of him looked rather panicked, scared even? Like he was trying to flee from something frightening... He took a step, all ready to lend a hand needed and- wait, a laguz? A tails, ears... Not a laguz he knew about though...
Oh! Right, people came from all over the world to the Academy, Tellius probably wasn't the only place where Laguz and Beorc lived together, well, they probably didn't call themselves Laguz, he should ask that person more about it, but perhaps he would sound rude if he did-
And maybe he shouldn't have let himself get lost in his own thoughts so easily, for he didn't notice fast enough when the other came barreling towards him, tears in his eyes, literally falling on him.
It took the knight by surprise, proven by how easily he went down with the impact, air easily escaping his lungs, but oddly enough something was... stopping it from leaving his lips?
Oh. Yes, another pair of lips were on his... WAIT? WHAT-HOW- (If he hadn't been trained as a knight for his whole life, Geoffrey might have passed out right here, right now, like the bunny (?) boy on top of him actually did-).
the worth of a thousand words
Despite having always been distant to creativity, Katarina had not thought herself one to underestimate the difficulty of art. She hadn't, yet here and now finds herself both surprised and frustrated by how unwieldy the pencil has suddenly become in her hand. The would-be artist had begun her practice with the thought of taking it step by step, and it shows: individual pieces sit more strongly in isolation, becoming disjointed as a whole.
The pencil stills in her hand, gray eyes pressed to the paper, perplexed. Drawing from memory certainly hasn't helped her case -- if anything, it's her most dismal detractor. Every mistake feels the greater offense when her eyes mark them as wrong where they never should be.
It's too much pressure, she thinks; she's practically starting at her end goal. Finger and thumb press to nose and jaw as she takes a good look at it, sighing softly.
"A reference..." She murmurs under her breath. As if she'd ever find one. "...No, um... oh!" Gray eyes meet blue, her own widening, lashes fleetingly a-flurry with blinks. "I-- s-sorry, I was... thinking. Can I help you...?"
@realmsprotector
"My apologies, I didn't mean to scare you, but- You seemed like you were the one needing help?" Geoffrey bowed out of greeting and respect, an eyebrow up in question to the lady in front of him.
He was doing his daily patrol, as it was now his routine since joining the Academy a couple of months ago, when he spotted the girl, looking like she was agonizing (for a lack of a better description) over something rather... frustrating? As per his duty as a Knight, he had to go check on her but she didn't notice him right away and he couldn't really well call out to her without sounding rude- Especially since he didn't know her name or even her house. Or anything about her to be honest.
Approaching her without noise probably was his mistake though, something he still had to work on, Lucia often told him he needed to made his presence known when on duty or people could take it the wrong way- Anyway.
"Were you, perhaps, drawing? I believe I heard you talking about a reference, should I bring it here for you?" If it could help her feel better and finally get out of her slump, he would go fetch a horse to be her model if he needed to!

Geoffrey is the Laguz Whisperer-
đ
Of everyone to find standin' near this cursed plant...
There's a split second where she considers turnin' tail. Actin' like she's forgotten some important meetin' or other, instead of facin' her fears head on.
Nephenee steels herself. She'll get over this, eventually. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine anythin' would come of it anyhow. Still, her cheeks glow pink as she waves at Geoffrey.
"Enjoyin' a nice walk 'round the grounds?" The more she tells herself not to focus on the little green plant attached to the stone, the more she feels herself drawn to it, until she glances at it a second too long. "Pa would start considerin' this thing invasive if'n he were here."
"I guess I am, yes. That and people watching, I must confess, the end of the year's festivities are always an interesting time..." He wondered if it was something Nephenee enjoyed too, he wasn't big of being the center of attention, or in the middle of so many people, but the gentle atmosphere surrounding the place was actually nice and soothing, the time seemed to have stopped somehow, allowing Geoffrey a brief respite for once.
He was going to ask about her but he noticed her staring and when he curiously looked up, he chuckled at her words. One could consider that plant invasive at this time of the year, indeed.
It was everywhere (so much so he didn't even notice there was some right where he was stading).
"Would he actually take care of it or play along with the tradition?" He asked, his tone teasing as he looked back at her, an amused smile playing on his lips. Nephenee looked so... interested in the mistletoe though, Geoffrey knew she'd choose the second option herself, wouldn't she?
Slowly, he toswiok one of her hand in his, gauging her reaction as he lifted it up, judging it was safe to assume she didn't mind the gesture. And, still slowly but gently, he lightly brushed his lips over the back of said hand.
"I believe it is a tradition, even in FĂłdlan, isn't it?" He carefully let go of her hand then, accompanying the movement as far as possible before letting go that is, and smiled at her.
"Oh, I wanted to ask you if you were also enjoying a walk around? We could perhaps continue together?"
dorothea recalls the knight wellâtall, striking, and every inch the paragon of chivalry. his presence, last they met, had been as poised as it was commanding, and on that special day, he had presented her with bountiful bouquets of the most delicate flowersâa gesture he claimed was borne from the generosity of his fellow knight-in-arms. it's only fair she return the kindness. for no act of generosity, no matter how small, ought to be forgotten.
"sir geoffrey~!" comes the call, her voice light with a trace of amusement. she promptly lowers herself into a small curtsey, her smile warm and knowing. "a little birdie told me that today's your special day, and i couldnât bear the thought of letting it pass without paying my respects."
with a gentle flourish, she presents the bouquet. "if you're not overtaken by admirers today, i was wondering if you'd join me for tea. iâve always believed that birthdays are best spent with good company."
He immediately turned when he heard his name, pausing in his tracks, easily recognizing the owner of such a melodious voice (oh he was starting to think the same way his fellow knights were, how terribly influencable he was when surrounded by fans-).
"Miss Dorothea." He answered her curtsey with a bow of his own, a polite smile mirroring hers, surprised by her visiting him but not showing it, why would a student want with a knight in the middle of the day? Were lessons finished? Did she perhaps need his help?
Oh, his birthday, indeed it was today... Apparently people knew that better than himself, he kind of lost track of time since he joined the Academy. He couldn't help himself but smile again at both her words and the bouquet.
"It would be my honour to join you, I actually just finished patrolling and was going to take a break, your timing was impeccable." He still was wondering if she wasn't supposed to do something else, anything else, than spending her precious free time with him- But, as a Knight, his duty was to accompany the students whenever they needed him, so he guessed he could accept the invitation, just this once.
Accepting the bouquet, he carefully put it in the crook of an arm, gently smiling at it, he couldn't remember the last time anyone gifted him anything of the sort. The last gift Lucia gave him was a whetstone and it was merely a joke from years ago-
Turning to the young lady at his side, he offered her his free elbow to her. "Shall we? It is unbecoming of a knight to ask such, but, could you lead the way? I'm still a little lost when I walk paths outside of my usual patrols, haha."
đSheâs holding the mistletoe herself, hopeful that thereâs no way he can misinterpret her intentions. Though it makes her heart race, she steps forward, hand outstretched as high as she can. With a sheepish smile and bright pink cheeks, she clears her throat
âOh look, mistletoe! I suppose it would be rude not to honour tradition. Um, that is, if you want maybeâŠâ Her voice trails off. She canât afford to be ambiguous though, to leave room for Geoffrey to question her motives. Elincia releases a breath she didnât realise she was holding and turns her gaze towards him.
âI would like to.â
At first, Geoffrey could only watch with curiosity and amusement, his Queen's behaviour seeming a bit strange until he saw the smile and bright cheeks and the- Oh! Mistletoe! Of course, they were already in december, weren't they? And he did see people here and there honouring tradition...
Oh.
He cleared his throat too, looking around in embarrassment, hopeful his own cheeks weren't the same shade as Elincia's (or worse), finally realizing which tradition they were actually talking about here. "O-Of course, Milady. I do believe it would be rude, too..." Especially since she's the one asking. And since it was tradition, his status as a Knight would not keep him from honouring it, yes. Totally.
(He just needed to work up the courage to do something oh so outrageous!)
With a nod to himself, he gently took the plant from his Lady's hand, relieving her from any effort at keeping it as high as possible, he was taller, so he should be the one keeping it above them (he was just trying to buy time, wasn't he?).
He leaned down he bit, finally looking at her. His free hand pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear as he got closer. She did say she woud like to, right? Oh, Goddess above, don't let Lucia know about this, she wouldn't let him live in peace anymore!
And he was going to do as Elincia wanted, he swore he tried to, but! You do not, you cannot, ignore a lifetime of teaching in proper manners and etiquette and the like, especially when interacting with your country's Queen, so- His lips kissed the corner of her mouth, barely touching the lips, but, it still counted, didn't it? His conscience wouldn't let him go further, unfortunately (don't think that way Geoffrey!).
However, to make it up, he stayed a bit longer than necessary before straightening up, the hand that lightly stayed behind her ear now hiding his mouth as he, once more, cleared in throat, his eyes fleeing the scene of the crime he just committed.
What was one supposed to say after such an act, though? Oh, now he was way more confused after than before, forgetting he was still holding the mistletoe up there-

The careful draw of a bow, the press of a bowstring against his cheek.
Sothe has never fancied himself much of an archer -- he's more than happy to leave that particular skillset in Leonardo's hands -- but his aim isn't awful. He's also never fancied himself as someone with much class pride at this school, so he's really not sure how he ended up here. The training bow in his hands has a lighter draw weight, at least, a weight he can handle without feeling too much strain in his arms and hands.
He adjusts his arm carefully, squinting up at a patch of yellow-and-blue paint that seems dried enough. He'd rather not scrape his cheek raw with the sharp edge of a release bowstring, no-thank-you.
There.
He looses the shot -- it flies sort-of-true. Red paint splatters above the other two, coating the wall in a shade not unlike blood. He can't help but be satisfied at this, a little smirk upon his lips. Steady hands load the next shot into the bow, and he holds it tight as he steps out from the wall of the Academy he'd just vandalized.
Shit. Someone's there -- is that a teacher? A knight? Rabbit-panic settles into his heartrate, makes it beat fast, and his instincts take over. He ducks back into the alley, crouching, and --
okay, maybe he shouldn't have listened to his instincts. The shot he fires sure does land well, but he instantly winces when the knight gets painted red. He scans the wall for foot-and-handholds with the corners of his eyes, but gives fatal pause when he realized he knows this knight.
"Geoffrey?!" he half-whispers, half-shouts.
@realmsprotector
What was going on, today? Why was he seeing so many students aiming at the Academy's building and basically vandalizing it with... paint? Before fleeing when they saw him, laughing and giggling for some...
Oooookay... something definitely was up, because, wasn't this Sothe he was seeing doing the exact same thing, over there? The young man never seemed the type for that... kind of things, to Geoffrey. Always polite, always helpful and proactive- Why would he do such a thing?
He decided to approach him and ask, it was the fatest way to have an answer, Geoffrey definitely was missing something, was it an official event from said Academy or something? But, when he finally took one step closer to the younger man, Geoffrey saw red. Literally. Hands up, he quickly glanced at himself and identified the red as paint, the same paint other students were throwing at the walls..
Did Sothe... misfire or something or was it on purpose? Whichever it was, his attention went back to the boy, his red face and armor forgottrn for a second as he frowned at him (or more like one eyebrow up in question the other down in frustration), not mad per se, but confused and wanting answers.
"I believe you have some explaining to do, Sothe? What's going on, here? And why am I now the perfect target for possible enemy archers?"

Ryoma looks down at his hands. Perhaps he is trembling a little bit. Still, heâs perfectly fine. He tucks his hands into his armpits.
âNonsense,â he says. âAll I need is to warm up my hands. You may be surprised by how much warmer youâll feel if you wrap up your extremities.â It doesnât help as much as heâd like. He wonât freeze to death though, he knows heâs completely fine how he is. As long as he doesnât move and allow the cold to seep in, anyway.
âAnd Iâm hardly so fragile that I canât handle a little cold.â Though, itâs starting to get a little colder. âI donât believe you are either, but itâs a common courtesy to give you the blanket rather than take it myself.â
Maybe heâs still a self-sacrificing noble at heart. He canât help himself.
âOr if you are too stubborn to take it for yourself, we could share it. They say sharing body heat is important.â They also say itâs safer to do so naked. Ryoma isnât suggesting that. Heâs hardly ashamed of his own body, but this isnât so life-and-death that they must get naked for each other. He hopes.
How funny to be called stubborn by the one man who was trying to sacrifice himself and refusing to give up on the idea not even a minute ago...
Geoffrey had an excuse, his knight's training and his life living for that one person, which was Ryoma's? He didn't look liké a knight but he sure had the posture of someone important.
"If both of us are under the blanket and sitting down, we wouldn't bé able to react fast enough if something were to happen..." It wasn't an excuse to not share, but a real issue for Geoffrey, but he could see how the other man wasn't going to back down.
They both were incredibly stubborn.
The knight sighed, his fingers massaging between his eyes. Surely, the man and their Queen would get a long amazingly well.
"I guess we can do it while standing up, if you don't mind. I want to be able to act whenever I need to." He looked back at the other, an eyebrow up in question. Granted they will lose some warmth doing it that way, but-
In any case, as soon as it is safe to do so, he's destroying that wall of ice to get out of there!
Runaway Pup

Ena startles as the pup all but leaps into her arms, defying all her expectations. Perhaps she should become more prepared to expect the unexpected in her daily life. The battlefield was one thing, there would always be something that defied her plans. Such was the nature of being alive. Plans would always have to change on the fly, depending on how the enemy reacted.
But daily life was not a battlefield.
She had thought she had a bit more control over what happened. But perhaps she did not have as much as she had thought.
The puppy in her arms squirms, looking up at her with its big brown eyes as it lets out a small yawn. And she feels a sudden longing for her son who was now an oceans apart from her.
She holds the puppy a little closer, craddling it gently in her arms, as she looks up at Sir Geoffrey, "... Mm... I suppose I have..."
Who would have thought that this was the way that this day would have gone? ... Well, she had wanted to cuddle the puppies either way... so this was certainly not too far off from her wish.
"... Yes... let us take him back to his siblings. Hopefully he will not see fit to misbehave anymore if he is given the attention one so young might desire..."
Geoffrey couldn't help a smile, the gentle scene in front of him would warm the coldest of hearts, wouldn't it? Ena seemed so at ease with that little guy in her arms, he sure didn't want to separate them, at least, not now.
"I am sure he won't, he looks way too comfortable in your arms to even think about escaping again." He quietly laughed, relieved he didn't have to run around in a panic again, fate brought Ena to him as the perfect help in his times of need.
With a nod and a small bow, he gestures to the stables's direction, letting the lady walk in front of him, as a knight, he still needed to keep an eye on their little criminal after all. And when they reached said stables, he was happy to see nothing of importance happened while they were away, except for some impatient students who wanted to see the newborns, to whole he apologized for the wait and opened the doors to allow visitons inside again.
Once settled inside again, he looked at Ena, offering her a chair to make herself at home with her new little friend and his siblings. "Lady Ena, thank you so very much for your help today, I hope you'll enjoy your stay." He smiled again in gratitude, wow his cheeks were starting to hurt smiling that much today, before he had to turn around to help a student.
He had no issue letting lady Ena alone with the puppies, he knew he could trust her with them.

Runaway Pup
( TOA anniversary board - riding +1)
"..." She was not trying to be nice. It was simply a fact. That was all. How was stating the facts something nice? Sometimes, she simply did not understand other people it seemed.
She sighs, and follows after Sir Geoffrey as he heads in the direction that the wayward pup had ran in. She doubts her ability to do much physically, but perhaps she can observe its movements and direct Sir Geoffrey on where it was going so he could attempt to catch it.
"..." She stares quietly at Sir Geoffrey, silently pondering his suggestion. Sure, it did know her scent yet. But surely she would smell very distinct to the little wolf. Perhaps she should bring that up to Sir Geoffrey, "... I fear that it may be able to smell me coming. I am..." She does not say, only making an evocative gesture instead, "after all. I am not certain... but I can hazard a guess that I smell very different from all the beorc around..."
Maybe if she walked quietly enough... it wouldn't think to check the air for her scent.
Also... she doubts that she would be able to catch it, given her failure to do so last time. But it is at least worth a try.
"... Very well though... I can give it a try..." She takes a few steps in the pup's direction, trying to do what Sir Geoffrey had suggested. Sneak up behind it... and wait for him to move. Ena just had to be on her guard this time, and be ready to catch it.
Easy enough... right?
"I don't think that'd be an issue?" Geoffrey tiltted his head to the side in thoughts at Ena's words and gesture, sure the pup probably could tell she was not a Beorc, like the students and knights visiting it and its peers previously, but did it care?
Like, it just wanted to get away from Geoffrey, it looked happy getting from one visitor to another, perhaps it'd be even happier to meet Ena? In the knight's mind, it would be eager to meet her and hopefully just jump into her arms when it realized she was around.
He nodded then, getting ready for their plan to, totally, absolutely, succeed, he was sure of it! Lady Ena was caught by surprise earlier, that was why she couldn't catch the little fellow in time, but now? They were both in sync and focused, it will work!
And worked it did, somewhat. It even exceeded Geoffrey's expectactions. When Ena was in place, he did as he said, quietly walked towards the little wolf until it noticed him and, as usual, escaped from him (Geoffrey was starting to feel a little bit frustrated about it, he wondered what he did wrong with that one- Makalov. He was totally calling that one Makalov in his mind now).
That's when Geoffrey started running in its direction, not letting a choice to Makalov, its only escape path Ena's direction and- Wait, did it just jumped into her arms, when she bent down to catch it, instead of trying to get away? That... Wasn't what he was expecting but, oddly enough, it worked. It got caught after all.
With a laugh and a shake of his head, he walked towards the both of them, grinning at the Lady and her little furry friend. "Would you look at this? I think you just made a new friend, Lady Ena!" He laughed again, poking the wolf's tummy in a playful way.
"Shall we get back to the stables? If you wish to continue hugging it, I think it'd be more comfortable here than in the middle of the Monastery's streets." He didn't know about Ena but that little prankster sure loooked like it did!

âAs far as Iâm aware, no,â Ryoma said, âthough I havenât been in FĂłdlan long enough to know for certain.â Was this his failing? He should have asked before they set off, but it hadnât snowed yet in all his time in FĂłdlan. In the back of his mind, he assumed it didnât snow here.
Well, they were in it now. They may as well make the most of it.
âNonsense,â he said. âIâve endured far worse cold than this.â Like the cold lifelessness of death. He shuddered at the unwelcome thought. The idea of his own mortality came to him less and less frequently these days, but that didnât mean that he didnât still think of it.
âReally, I donât think I feel the cold anymore.â He did, he just refused to admit it. Besides, while he had stripped himself of his title, the old royal blood in him demanded he make sacrifices for the people and soldiers around him. âPlease, take it.â
"I guess visiting foreign lands always have some good surprises in store for us..." He nonchalantly muttered to himself, remembering some of the most impacful surprises happening to them a couple years ago, or mostly to Elincia.
Unpredictability was, ironically, a constant in every place.
His frown came back, deeper as he shook his head at Ryoma. "Not feeling the cold does not mean it doesn't affect your body, sir. I can already see a slight tremor in your hands and I don't think it is because you're nervous about being trapped in here with me."
Or at least he hoped so, that would make the whole situation uselessly complicated, the knight already dreading the long night ahead of us, probably arguing about a blanket of all things.
"Take it first, we'll talk again later when you have warmed up enough to admit you were lying to both yourself and me about the cold." He, almost, scold the other man, being reminded of people he knew back home, acting the same way in that kind of situation. Ridiculous.
He was a Crimean Knight, he had been trained to face such situations, not one of those weak Beorc nobles who needed protection against literally everything.
