#last time i reblogged this it was about lihn and that still holds but this time i’m floyd collinsing it #like imagine you were born in 1887 and spent 99.9% of your life in obscurity and mostly alone and never married or dated anyone #and then at 37-going-on-38 you spent the last ~2 weeks of your life in horrible pain & discomfort & dread while millions of people watched #and your very last human contact was a man kissing you goodbye because you begged him to and they put that in the papers #and 100+ years later your legacy is “guy who died badly in a cave” or in niche circles “greatest cave explorer ever known” #but enough knowledge about You The Person was passed down from the cub reporter (and others) who tried to save you #to the caver & historian who told your story as truthfully as possible to the musical theatre writers who made it into a work of art #for gay people born after nearly* everyone who knew you had died to go “maybe this guy was gay too :) that would be neat” on the internet #things happen and folks forget but the rain soaks it up and collects it here… no telling what’s on these walls layering on slow #like a stone history book with a couple of sentences about me… #probably why it lives next to lihn in my mind. exchanging a kiss goodbye while the oppressive environment you’re trapped in crumbles #see you in heaven / and if we meet again how i hope the world is different then… all part of the great unrecorded history #floyd collins #*the 1999 epilogue of trapped says the last living person to have seen floyd alive in sand cave (william douglas) died in april 1994 #and there may have been people who technically met floyd when they were kids who were still around at that time #but all his immediate family members and the vast majority of his neighbors and would-be rescuers were dead well before then

Papercraft commission of Jester, Caleb, Nott, and Essek (and Frumpkin)! I've been moseying my way through Critical Role and having a lot of fun listening, and was thus very excited for my first time making art of any of the Mighty Nein! (I haven't reached Essek yet but I'm really looking forward to him :D) Plus I always have enormous fun with multi-figure compositions, so this one was extra delightful to make!
