i refuse to apologize for prioritizing my needs
being yourself, open, authentic and vulnerable is really scary at first. you donât know what people will do, say or think. and thatâs entirely not under your control, but once you learn how to navigate these situations while remaining true to who you are at your core, it becomes freeing to the point youâll never want to shrink yourself to fit into spaces you donât belong. who you are eventually becomes non-negotiable.
be kind to the person you are becoming
to everyone who's lost a mom, has suffered abuse from their mom, has no or a strained relationship to their mom, is struggling to concieve, or anything else that makes today hard, i see you. you have every right to take today for yourself. you have no obligation to call your mom or do anything for her, if she hasn't earned it. sending everyone struggling today so much love.
forgive your younger self. believe in your current self. create your future self.
You are valuable.
You are loved.
You are worthy of recovery.
honour your worth: you deserve to be safe, content, loved and supported
Gentle reminder: Itâs okay to feel overwhelmed. Sometimes things get too much to handle. Take some time to yourself, self-care isnât being selfish.
Some kinds of healing really does take time and thatâs okay. Take as much time as you need. Youâre going to get to a good place one day and youâre going to look back and think wow look at where I started and where I am today.
Society places way too much pressure on hitting certain âmilestonesâ by certain ages, so Iâm here to remind you that:
Itâs okay if youâre not where you âshouldâ be.
Itâs okay if you havenât met your goals yet, or if you donât even know what those goals are.
Itâs okay if the only thing youâre accomplishing right now is surviving.
The ârise and grindâ culture is toxic and you are not obligated to participate.
TW: Mention Child Sexual Abuse
I'm not able to really talk about this to others, so I am going to just get some of this out on here.
Not sure if any of you know who the Duggars are, but the oldest son was recently arrested for possessing images of CSA. In the past he also molested some of his sisters when he was a teen.
I remember when the abuse against his sisters came out. It was one of the first times I thought my own abuse was valid. My brother, when he was around 14 would sexually abuse me, in a similar way. I never told anyway for years. However when I went into treatment for my ED, the trauma came out. The hurt I felt when my parents didn't believe me/didn't want to acknowledge what happened was one of the hardest things I had to go through. I was fortunate that when I did say I no longer wanted to live at home because he still lived there, my older sister took me in for the next year (I moved away to college after that). We never really addressed it, and to be honest, I still feel a lot pain and bitterness towards my family because of it.
Seeing others come out about similar stories of a sibling or family member abusing them has made me feel so less alone. Even more so when I see the support from others, even if it is just an "I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Sometimes that's all we really need.
I'm sharing a bit of my story, so that hopefully someone else can feel less alone, too. The world can be so cruel sometimes, but it can get better.
You matter and your story is valid!

you are evolving...
...with each passing day.
every day you become a better version of yourself. you are growing. you may not be able to see it but it's happening.
you're getting there. keep steady â¨
it is ok to still be angry.
it is ok to still be hurt.
it is ok to not let people back into your life.
people do not automatically deserve your forgiveness and a place in your life just because they've apologized.

anxiety can be tiring
and so can panic and depression.
when your mental health is suffering, your mind is working extra hard to keep up with your overthinking and the pressure that's being put mentally. it tires you out.
give yourself enough rest when you know you are struggling with mental health issues. understand that your body needs a little extra care to cope up. there is no need to feel guilty about resting. you are only doing what's best for you in this time.
rest well. live well â¨
surround yourself with people who youâre actually excited to hang out with during early mornings when youâre usually grumpy. those are the good ones, keep them close
Not every day is going to be perfect or productive or happy. You may have days where you're feeling discouraged or foggy or stuck.
And that's okay!!
Your bad days won't last forever, even if it feels like they will. Be gentle with yourself. đ
