Journey of self-knowledge! 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Today’s episode: EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE!
Self-control, persistence, self-motivation are just a few characteristics of those who have emotional intelligence. It consists of a psychological concept that analyzes the human being's ability to deal with one's own emotions and with the feelings of others.
To achieve emotional intelligence, there must be a balance between the areas present in the two hemispheres of the brain, the right and the left.
Emotional intelligence is able to accept different aspects of life, such as:
- Work performance:
It has greater control over the factors of motivation, leadership, interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution and problem solving;
- Physical health:
The lack of emotional control contributes to increased blood pressure, infertility and immune system problems, so well-resolved emotions can YES prevent physical health problems;
- Mental health:
Anxiety, depression, panic syndrome are just some emotional disorders that manifest when there is no monitoring of emotions;
- Interpersonal relationships:
Emotionally intelligent people can better understand and express feelings, which contributes to building stronger relationships.
Before we talk about how to develop emotional intelligence, it is IMPORTANT to know that this is not about always being well or happy, because that is impossible. We human beings have a very large amount of emotions and they are very complex, the true meaning of emotional intelligence is not NOT TO FEEL but knowing how to deal with what you feel.
Tips on how you can improve your emotional intelligence:
- THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE FEELING:
There are times when we totally shake and lose control of our emotions. It is very important to do a self-assessment, like, why do I feel this way, what was the thought that I had to react in this way. The deeper you go into assessing your emotions through questioning, the more you will discover about yourself.
- INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EMOTIONS:
That's right! Of course, the ideal is ALWAYS to have a psychological follow-up from a professional. However, in life, we walk with our own legs and we need to know how to express our emotions. The problem is that most of the time, we know almost nothing about emotions. So how are we going to express ourselves? Read, research, study about emotions, seek help from a professional who can help you on this journey. The more you dedicate yourself, the greater your results and the faster you will be talking much more easily about how you feel.
- PRIORITIZE YOUR EMOTIONAL:
Don't leave a situation to solve for later, if something bothered you, express yourself. If you're angry, show it, if you're sad, cry, and if you felt bothered by something COMPLAIN! Don't keep the feelings to yourself, it will become a snowball and will be much harder to resolve later.
- EVERYTHING IS A PROCESS:
No matter where you are, and where you want to go with your emotional intelligence, perhaps this is the theme that most covers the other themes of this journey of self-knowledge. And just like this program, emotional intelligence is also a journey! Everything you go through during this journey was responsible for building what you will become, so DON'T BE AFRAID to strengthen your emotional as much as to know yourself!
I wish everyone who read this post a great journey! 🤍
