I’ve been in fandom since the late 90s. I’m an oldie. I am a “you do you and I do me” kinda person. 18+ content soooometimes here but mostly just in writing?

Mostly I write so this post is a long list of most of my fics. I’m not good at keeping it up-to-date here. Ao3 is where I chill.

When it comes to ships, I don’t care about positioning. I know some people do, but, like, for example, I could zolu or luzo. I just love their characters. I have my own headcanons but I will read just about anything, and a lot of times I’ll switch headcanons based on situation or AU or just because I wanna play around with something else.

Had an anon hate on Tumblr asking how I would feel if they made a comic about Luffy moaning Sanji's name while fing Zoro and it gave me a really funny idea. I also added a little zosopp and implied sanopp.

Straw hat polycule can be fun sometimes, but I do like luzo/zolu the best lol

I really would like to write but it's coming out awful so I'm stopping.

This is on my mind due to a few of my fandoms but I've seen it pretty much everywhere: whether a character deserves redemption is far more about genuine remorse and restitution, not the magnitude of wrongdoing nor the severity of punishment. A guy who kicks one dog, is beaten nearly to death, recovers, and kicks a second dog doesn't get a redemption arc. A guy who commits a war crime, is given a stern talking to and a slap on the wrist, and changes their ways and goes about attempting in good faith to make amends does. You cannot punish someone into redemption and you cannot traumatize someone into blamelessness and it's pretty fucked up people act like the quantity of suffering is what brings about redemption and not the actions willingly taken.

Hence I will never stop repeating that Redemption by Death is a legit fucking literary trope, because people going "well you cannot redeem a lifetime of comminitng crimes with one sacrifice!" are objectively wrong. You absolutely can.

also like. the thing with redemption arcs is that they are Story Arcs. they’re not about Deserving on a Moral level, they’re about Deserving on a Storytelling level. we can argue about rehabilitative justice all day but that’s Irrelevant when discussing What Would Be Satisfying And Logical In The Story. i don’t think you should be put to death for kicking a dog but if Dog Kicker McGee is out here kicking dogs with no sense of remorse it would not be satisfying if he was given a redemption arc out of nowhere because it both isn’t satisfying and makes no sense for his established character.

thank, you. Too many people turn this into some kind of holy or political battle when THE STAKES AREN'T REAL. Extrapolate meaning and experience catharsis from fiction, and perhaps alter your life based on lessons learned from fiction, but when merely discussing fiction calm right down. The questions raised are real, but the characters themselves are fake.

Have you seen one of these dipshits? If you post regularly on ao3, chances are YES, but more likely you didn't notice nor suspect it was a bot. Sometimes they start off nice, or even praise you before getting nasty out of nowhere, like so:

I don't know where they come from, or what purpose this could possibly serve other than suicidebaiting random people in the internet, I guess; but apparently they've started parroting names from real users to send these comments and shifting their general length to go by undetected. Maybe those are scrappers trying to train 'reviewbots' to be sold as part of some scam service promising to give feedback for newbie writers, who the fuck knows.

What I love about loving both Zolu and Luzo dynamic is that I get the appeal of both. To me, their relationship is like this secret third thing that can’t really be defined. Platonic? Romantic? They don’t give a fuck. I feel the same way when thinking who tops or bottoms. They just do whatever want to do at that moment.

Luffy topping just makes so much sense. He’s not the type to be told what to do, and Zoro only ever bows to Luffy. He’s literally the only person Zoro canonically allows to be above him and to submit to (literally lmao). Luffy is the only character I can imagine Zoro can be submissive to. I love imagining them cuddling with Zoro as the little spoon. Like, Zoro always protects his back because "Scars on the back are a swordsman’s shame” and then you have Luffy protecting it by hugging Zoro from behind. That’s just… pure perfection. Zoro being all gruff and stoic but immediately melting in his captain’s arms? Yeah, that wrecks me

But then Zoro topping? Ugh, also perfect. I adore the idea of Luffy being so deeply loved and cared for, and no one protects him like Zoro does. He’s literally the knight to Luffy being king. Luffy is the anchor and pillar of the Straw Hats. Everyone relies on him because he’s their captain. But when he needs to be vulnerable, I love thinking about Zoro being the one to ground him, to comfort him. The idea that their strong, fearless captain can let himself be vulnerable and guided by his right hand man just hits so hard. And the thought of Zoro getting all flustered seeing Luffy under him then worship and kiss every part of Luffy's body like a god… ughhh, I can’t. Chefs kiss indeed

Okay two things

1) every time I see something like this, or photos of wild unrealistic landscapes that really exist, or spectacular architecture, whatever it is, I think again that when we write fantasy, we NERF REALITY. That is, here's some dude with a special interest and a brain that somehow lacks basic self preservation mechanisms, and he's out here looking like a super hero. Regular humans are capable of things we seem super human. Real landscapes are more fantastical than our fantasies. Reality is more fantastical than our fantasies.

2) how the fuck did he not kick out any windows that's the most impressive part of the whole video.

So as someone who used to teach parkour back in the day, this dude isn’t just talented. His technique is amazing.

It’s not just about not kicking out windows. Controlling how you land is about shock absorption, about minimizing the strain on your joints. It also makes you quieter when you move. A good landing should be as silent as possible, because loud landings hurt. That’s the foundation of everything else you do in parkour. So by the time you’re climbing buildings, if you’re breaking windows it means you don’t have enough control to land safely and it’s time to go back to your ground basics.
