One of the many reasons I loved the dream SMP was 1) because it was comprised mainly of pvpers and speedrunners, with hardly any building or redstone specialists, and 2) entering the End was forbidden and the End never factored into the SMP at any point. It led to a lack of resources and infrastructure that gave the server a medieval feeling to it. Players who accumulated a lot of resources usually did so through solo grinding. No one could make communal resource farms because they'd all be at risk of becoming pieces in the geopolitical war games, and/or being destroyed (I think the only piece of communal infrastructure that survived unscathed was the underground spider farm near the Eggpire). People didn't have elytra, and roads were constantly being destroyed, so the primary method of rapid transportation was Riptide tridents, which as far as I'm aware is pretty unique to the Dream SMP and showcases the really awesome and interesting alternatives that can develop in a no-End lategame. God the dog-eat-dog worlds that a bunch of bored men create are hell to live in and absolutely marvellous to tell stories in. The SMPs with End access and reliable resource reserves and infrastructure just can't compare.

It is so good to scan the Anaïs Mitchell tag and see that she is (deservedly) being touted as a genius and an icon for her writing and multi-talented art and depth in a way usually reserved only for men. Like she is in fact that good and I'm only now realizing the Hadestown lore is in fact that deep (I'm very late to the party ok) and it's so good to see her get her flowers for it

With all the danger days talk I keep getting jumpscared by the killjoy's 'canon' pronouns- related note, I thought we as a fandom were pretty religiously using they/them for poison right?? At least on usual tumblr traffic over the last year or two I've noticed it become the standard, headcanoned or not. Granted I havent been very active lately but when did everyone start using he/him again because thats all I'm seeing right now. I'm sure most of these are just casual fans that don't know/care or are talking about Gerard and not the character but I'd be curious to see how many of these posts are from the same people that are weird about people she/her and they/themming Gerard because I have definitely noticed some overlap.

Hello. What's your fav male and female character from n : mexico? Why do you like them?

Ooooh yay let’s go!

My favorite male character is Amado. I have many posts to do with that guy floating around from last year but in the interest of brevity I just think his development across all the seasons is fun to watch (even if I have gripes with it), and he had some of the most memorable moments/storylines of all time. I loved his relationship with Pablo Acosta a lot, and in general he’s the character that makes me really think about this show and analyze the details. 10/10 character right there, one for the books. Also JMY is very handsome and I like drawing him.

Fav female character probably is not much of a shock because there’s not that many central women (😞) but Enedina has been in my top 5 Narcos characters since my first watch. Maybe not the most complicated person as far as motivations or depth but I think that’s just because she wasn’t treated as a main focus. She had potential. Her scheme with Isabella was a nice plot bunny and I was low key mad that she threw Isa under the bus because her family just continued to undervalue her anyways. Her wedding episode is one of my favorites actually! Idk I really attached to her because she wasn’t just there to be a background love interest and actually had some motion, I just wish she was there more (without her brothers lol). Oh and she had some fierce outfits.
