adashi/shadam engagement headcanons
because adashi needs a boost
adam is the one who proposes
shiro had been looking for a ring but couldn’t find the PERFECT one
adam takes him to the Natural History Museum
that’s where they had their first date because theyre both huge dorks
BUT adam doesn’t want to propose in public because he doesn’t want to put that pressure on shiro, even if it’s 100% sure he’ll say yes
so he waits until theyre on their way home and they’re both babbling to each other about stuff in the museum.
when they’re getting out of the car, adam lets shiro walk ahead of him a little, and says, “oh shoot”
shiro stops and turns around
adam very dramatically drops to one knee
shiro stares at him, and he looks like he’s gonna start blushing
adam says, “my shoe’s untied.”
he ties his shoe while shiro stares at him
“can you help me up, babe?”
shiro offers his hand and says, “sorry- i - jeez, i thought you were gonna-”
adam pulls his hand back from shiro and says, “oh, i almost forgot”
he pulls the ring out of his pocket
“takashi,” he says, and he’s smiling so hard he thinks his cheeks are going to split open
shiro has This Look on his face and he says, “you asshole” and then nods, and he looks like he’s going to start crying which adam didn’t expect
“so that’s a yes, right?”
“of course it is,” shiro says, and he kisses adam
he whispers in adam’s ear, “you beat me to the punch is all”
and adam starts laughing because of course they’re on exactly the same page with pretty much everything
they go inside and shiro immediately starts talking about color schemes
adam is so stupid in love with him
and shiro is stupid in love with adam, too.
