Someone really aught to tell those YouTube Shorts people who read fandom Tumblr posts that when only two characters are speaking back and forth, you don't need to read out each character's name over and over before their dialog. Who's speaking in a two-person back and forth conversation is implied by the context, someone save them.
So we all agree that V!Owen is going to die, right?
From a writing perspective, V!Owen is now a stagnant character. While he's been given multiple opportunities by Legs to change how he feels about humans and his revenge, even if just slightly, he's turned it down, choosing to remain steadfast in his beliefs and goals. This isn't to say that his resolve isn't cracking; we can see it in the end of Ep. 7 where he stands over Oakhurst and essentially tries to convince himself that Louis would still love him for who he has become (when we can reasonably assume through everything we know about Louis that he would be deeply upset to know who Owen is now); but Owen's overall stance and mission hasn't changed.
We're approaching the finale and V!Owen is going into those final episodes stagnant, which does not bode well for his survival. Being narratively stagnant is usually a death sentence for both positive and negative characters, because there's no more room for them to grow. Characters who can't grow, or refuse to, often die, because a character's story is about growth. In Owen's case, I believe his death will go one of two ways:
Owen will die smug, bitter, and self-righteous; feeling that his death only serves to prove that he was right all along. Either a human kills him and humans were the vial filth he believed them to be; or a vampire will kill him and it's only more proof he never belonged with them, because they've betrayed him. Either way, Owen will have proved himself right.
Or, Owen's mind is changed/he comes to his senses only moments before he dies, when it's too late (similar to Maze!Owen). Something like vision in death of Louis telling him that's he's disappointed, or turning his back to Owen, a manifestation of what Owen has subconsciously known the whole time and has been in denial of; that Louis would be horrified of what Owen has become. Owen realizes as the stake is being driven in that he's manufactured his own downfall where he didn't need to. He could have gone back to the village with Legs, he could have found a family in the Coven, but instead he chose to burn every connection and relationship in the throughs of revenge. Now Louis' gift and legacy dies with him, wasted on the pain, suffering, and hatred Louis was trying to cure in the first place.
Owen's story is very much one of grief and moving on, but it's a story about someone who refuses to move on. Someone who holds on to the cruelty, pain, and bitterness, and takes it out on everyone who attempts to reach them. Eventually, people stop reaching out. Eventually, you whither away and self-destruct alone. As a character, I think the lesson Owen needs to learn is that he needs to move on, for his own sake. He needs to live in spite of the pain and hardships of his past. He doesn't need to forget, and he doesn't need for forgive, but he needs to move forward for himself.
I think it's a lesson Louis tried to teach him, in a way. Louis turned him, gave him kindness and understanding and an eternity to find happiness beyond the town's cruelty. Louis' gift was the chance to move on and find peace, and Owen has tragically turned that gift into the weapon he uses to exact his revenge over and over and over. And it's going to be the weapon that's turned back on him when he dies.
CC!Owen is a great writer, and I'm so excited to see where his final episodes take his character. Who knows, V!Owen might even survive, but I doubt it. I'm just floating this out to the world because I love character analysis, and also because if either of my predictions are right I can reblog this with "I CALLED THAT SHIT" in like 2 weeks.

I love it when Scott plays completely irredeemable charismatic scumbags. He does them do well. He's like the embodiment of the Magnificent Bastard TV trope.
Trans!Danny, who upon meeting Dani for the first time is not only confronted with a shit-disturber kid with identical powers to himself claiming to be his cousin, but also with an uncanny mirror of his younger self when he was a girl. That's him, that's basically what he used to look like...
