書店で見つけました。I came across it at a bookstore.

コメントで教えていただいてから、after the comments telling me about it,

ずっとずっと探していたのに私が行く本屋さんにはどこも、サスケ烈伝だけ何故かなくて…。I had been looking and looking everywhere for it, but besides for Sasuke Retsuden- I don’t have any reason to go to the bookstores.

先日スタジオ移動の合間に入った大きな本屋さんにあったので迷わずレジへ。Just a few days ago, I left the studio during a break and entered this large bookstore and went straight to the cash register.

表紙の2人、カッコよくて美しい! Those two on the cover… so cool/handsome and beautiful!

こんなサクラちゃんとサスケくんの物語が読めるなんて…何だか感慨深いですね。Such a story between Sasuke-kun and Sakura-chan… it was deeply emotional.

サスケもサクラを必要としているということがしっかり伝わってきて、夫婦としても忍同士としても信頼し合っている描写が素敵でした。It’s a fact that Sakura is also a necessity to Sasuke (could also be read as: Sasuke needs Sakura, too) Their depiction of mutually trusting each other as both a couple and as shinobi are wonderful.

それともう一つ読んでて嬉しかったのは、何かと怪力ばかりクローズアップされがちのサクラの、頭脳明晰ぶりが描かれていたこと。Another thing I was glad to read about was the mind/intellect of Sakura rather than just her superhuman strength, it was so close-up and clearly described.

初期のNARUTOでは、幻術に強かったり結構頭脳派の面も描かれていたんですよね。Even in the early days of NARUTO, she was powerful with genjutsu as well as shown to have a good brain.

あまりそちらに傾くとシカマルくんと被ってしまうのかな？なんて気もしていました。

I wonder if she covers too much for Shikamaru-kun? I worry for her.

とにかく、すっかり良い女になって、サクラちゃんが頼もしい存在となっていて良かったです！Anyway, I’m glad Sakura has become such a good and reliable person/woman!

It’s nice to see Chie’s thoughts on Retsuden. I wonder if she’s worried about Sakura here because her intellect could potentially be used for more infiltration missions? Sakura was in a precarious situation in that mission with all those prisoners and JiJi specifically putting a target on her back.

Sasuke Retsuden and Jealousy

Let people engage with the novel / SasuSaku how they want. If they like the idea of Sasuke being jealous in this one instance, then let them without feeling the need to constantly shame them through post after post of insults in the SS tag. It’s been non-stop for the last few days and it’s ruining people’s enjoyment of the book. Stop the gate-keeping. Stop the shaming. Sasuke being jealous might be annoying from a certain POV, but it is not so toxic that there’s a need to call out *fans* who don’t mind it.

Pathetic is NH/Hinata wankers translating a tweet where the novel author stated that the novel is a SPIN OFF OF NARUTO and using that as proof that it isn’t canon though they support all the novels prior to this. Newsflash dumb dumbs. All of the novels are SPIN OFFS NOT WRITTEN BY KISHI, you can’t decide which novel, especially when some are of the same set/series, are canon just because you guys are still jealous of Sakura/SS/SSS all these years later.

I still remember when The Last occurred and we were told repeatedly that we were just bitter and jealous over NH’s love story getting attention. However, because Sasuke Retsuden is far more superior in quality to what they got and it can’t really be denied, this work is suddenly an exception to the rule and just a fanfic. The fact is they thought they were safe from any major SS post-canon story because Kishi retired and SP dislikes our ship. Years later and here we are. Karma is something else.

Unfortunately alot of pple lately demonize jealous Sasuke cause certain popular bloggers demonized the idea. After this theres been alot of discourse over jealous Sasuke. I remember before everyone used to love this headcanon; but bam these bloggers pop out and suddenly it's controversial. Why can't these people understand that as long as he doesn't act in a toxic way these human emotion is not toxic. It's simply human.

I agree with you anon. I also think there’s a tendency to head canon Sasuke as someone who is super reserved in regard to showing proper emotion besides anger. Sasuke is not simply a loner anymore but someone who is married and has a child. As someone in a relationship, he would go through universal experiences, which includes being jealous if a stranger is not only gushing over his wife but showing romantic intent. And as you said it’s fine to feel this way. There’s a strong difference between jealousy and possessiveness.

So spoilers for the Sasuke Retsuden novel are out. Sakura looks like she’s rocking her old outfit which is cool. There’s a scene where a prisoner assumes Sakura is single because she doesn’t have a ring. Sasuke doesn’t understand; apparently rings aren’t common in Konoha. Which I’ve thought for awhile but seen antis use as proof they aren’t married (no rings). Anyways, what are your overall thoughts on some of the spoilers so far?

I’m interested to see if this was just one of several instances where Sasuke and Sakura learn more about the different relationship traditions that Konoha probably don’t incorporate, or at the very least aren’t as common or significant, and whether such discoveries will alter their perception of their own relationship. Not in terms of them thinking that they weren’t acting like a true couple before, but in terms of influencing them to begin expressing affection for each other in different ways, and those ways could maybe be inspired by what they learn during their exploration of the uncharted territories. It will probably end up being a topic of discussion they share at some point in the story.

I’m also very interested in how Naruto contracts whatever illness is affecting him in the novel, and how Sasuke and Sakura wind up in the situation they were in during the spoilers because that scene didn’t seem to be from early in the novel.

Lastly, it’s rather typical to see so many people talking about “jealous Sasuke” this and “jealous Sasuke” that, when the spoilers that have been released have literally given no indication whatsoever that Sasuke feels any jealousy because of this random prisoner talking about Sakura. All that was said was that the prisoner assumed Sakura was single because she wasn’t wearing a ring, and Sasuke seemed puzzled because he was unaware of such customs. But of course people will just jump to the conclusion that Sasuke was jealous because they just can’t get enough of the jealous and possessive Sasuke headcanon. If I ever needed a reminder of why I stopped reading SS fan fiction, this was it.

Tbh I don’t see why it’s not normal for Sasuke to be somewhat jealous. He’s her husband and another man is openly talking about her being available to pursue. It doesn’t have to mean he’s possessive or overly selfish of Sakura.

Not blasting your perspective at all but I personally don’t consider it bad if he was slightly jealous in this scenario.

With the news of Sasuke Retsuden, I can’t be the only one to find it ironic that despite all the previous shipping pandering the other novels did, the one with the SasuSaku content will likely be the best seller. SP will also eat it’s shoe because they can barely show a single SS moment without intentionally sabotaging it, and now they’ll have to deal with SS material that if animated, would be episodes filled with one-to-one interaction of the married couple, likely alone in some woods.

Okay so I saw it and tbh I find it cute and I don’t even like nh that much. I don’t see what the big deal is to those that are complaining about it. What’s so wrong about doing your own art animations about the things that you like? No offense but it’s really none of your business. Whether he likes a pairing more than another it’s none of your business. I mean yes even I feel irritated by finding out that most animators stan the ship that many extremists wank in our faces every two seconds because they’re that petty. But you have to understand that every person has their own will. Every individual is on their right to like and dislike what they want. As long as he respects Kishimoto and his work on the anime I have no problem with him(which so far I have not heard much on that matter). I’m not gonna lie. I don’t like the guy too much because of his already revealed shade towards the ss ship. But just because I dislike him doesn’t mean I’m gonna hate on every art he does or him as a person(I will only give critique to him as a professional animator). I will complain only when he shits on what I like with wrong intentions and reasons(especially on the anime), not when he draws what he likes. You all should really stop complaining about him liking nh more than ss because he’s just an animator. Outside of the anime he is just an animator simply drawing what he likes. So pls stop.

ps: I do however think that is unfair that the animator from the sports anime(was it haikyuu??) got fired when breaking the #no smut rule while seki just got a scolding plus a warning. I don’t think it’s the same animation studio; but I still feel bad for that other animator. Despite me not agreeing with that rule that “no animator should draw what they want on their own personal account because they work for the studio”, i still think there was an unequal treatment there

double ps: No im not generalizing the ss fandom. Im just speaking referring to those in general(in the nardo fandom) that acted extra(if there were any even, and again im basing this on traveling through nh blogs, it could be unreliable info and just idiots looking for another reason to be petty towards ss fans/sakura fans that dont give a shit about their fanservice and are really just annoyed),. And i’m not sure if a random nh blog is a reliable; but accordingly some were blaming ss/ns sakura fans and others were saying that they were the reason for seki removing the video; but supposedly it’s already been clarified that it was only a few sns shippers that were complaining and the actual animation was removed because who he works for told him to take it down. Regardless of this i know my fandom is not immune to having bad apples. So if you did comment hate on someones work, shame on you. Regardless, i feel like this needed to be said. Good day.

Don't believe everything you hear. I saw the comments before he took the art down. Some SS fans were asking for him to do a SasuSaku version, yes, but they were also PRAISING the NH work at the same time. Those who are blaming it on this fandom already have hate/bias for us and are looking for a reason to whine. period.
