If you have accounts like Facebook and Google +/Gmail, or any app that requires permissions to read & write your surface settings, then this is why it happens. Your default settings for location and other permissions (mic and camera) are enabled for constant read-write.

What does this mean?

You can toggle your permissions for these apps for conditions like Never or While Using App. Keep in mind that if you have apps opened up in the background of your phone, then you're technically using them. Make sure to close them out completely when you don't want to use them.

But why?

When you have your location permissions enabled for apps, this data is collected and used for targeted marketing. Google is the biggest offender.

The more you create accounts by using your Google or Facebook to login, the more active data collection you offer to these companies. Unfortunately, Facebook will never not offer you the chance to not have ads showing on your newsfeed. However, you can shut off channels of active data collection by signing up with an email address and a good ol' password instead of using SSO (single sign on) with Google or Facebook.

What I like best about this is that we know Eliot doesn’t commit hair-trigger violence over minor things – if someone bumps into him and spills his coffee he’s likely to be annoyed, but he’s not going to automatically break their arms.

hey, y’all found this in Pinterest and I just thought to breathe life back into it.

I just wanted to say that this is a thing that TOTALLY happens it isn’t until I got into Deadpool and found out that this serial-killing mercenary anti-villain who has more masculinity in his pinky than most men have in their entire bodies not only ADORES pink, he also plays with Barbie Dolls, wears dresses and has a Hello Kitty bag that he brings into battles to carry his guns. 

And I thought, hey, if HE can like pink without demeaning his portrayal of masculinity, maybe pink isn’t the problem.

(psst, it happened to dresses too. Even now I feel uncomfortable wearing skirts and dresses despite them being more comfortable for me because I grew up hearing that it was more proper, and boys at school continuously mocked girls in them, despite our national garb making it traditional. For a very long time, I was not the only girl who exclusively liked Jasmine because she wore trousers and she was the only Disney female cartoon character we always heard of. But Mulan wears dresses, and she defeated an army of Huns in negative degrees Celsius all by herself by using only 1 bomb. Can’t convince me that lady’s hasn’t got more steely balls than most of society.)
