Okay but what if they had a calm, rational discussion and decided that saving Rocky was more important than dying the way they’d planned. (“I volunteered to die for an entire planet. Now I get to die for two planets. Seems like a good deal to me.”) so they do the math and only one person would be able to maybe survive long enough to get to Rocky and save Erid. They draw straws. Ilyukhina rigs it so Grace gets the short straw (“Too bad you get to die alone.”). Yao and Ilyukhina opt to die in a manner which will leave their bodies edible because that’s what’s going to sustain Grace instead of coma slurry.

Something I do find lovely about the first 4 Murderbot Diaries books (can’t yet speak on all of them) is:

Murderbot chronically finding new scientists/travellers to claim as “clients” (whether paid or not) like one of those sheepless herding dogs that goes around finding sheep (or anything else they can herd like a flock of sheep). Like it clearly has a protect humans instinct and a desperate need for enrichment.

Given its general lack of self awareness and unreliable narrator status, there’s no way in hell Murderbot is aware it’s doing this.

I think Murderbot doesn’t have fingerprints because if it did it would absolutely make the effort to obscure them (By wearing gloves all the time, perhaps? Or having ART laser them off!) otherwise a forensic sweep would turn up evidence of rogue SecUnit activity.

shitty MS Paint 3 minutes doodle, nto entirely accurate: When you have your pinky hooked on the “bottom” edge of the phone for the extra security so it doesn’t slide out of your hand that easily, you’re wreaking damage on your hand, since the pinky is extremely askew from it’s resting position. You might have noticed that when you hold your phone like that for long time it begins to hurt, like when you are gripping a pen too tightly for example.

Green lines - the fingers are going their natural way. Red line - the pinky is way off, that’s bad.
