"Have I got your attention now?" James asked, coming up behind Regulus. Regulus was standing at the entrance to the grand hall, frozen in shock.

"James—" he started, but he didn't know what to say. The light the fireworks had made was still imprinted in his eyes, one message, scrawled in fiery writing. Will you go out with me Regulus?

"I'm not Potter anymore? That's a nice upgrade," James said, and even though Regulus wasn't looking at him, he could hear him grinning.

"Shut up."

"Sorry."

There was a pause.

"So… do I get to know your answer?" James asked.

"You asked me out in front of the whole school. With fireworks."

"You wouldn't speak to me," James protested. "I had no choice."

"Fine."

"Fine what?"

"Sunday, 2pm, the three broomsticks."

"I'll be there!" James said in excitement as Regulus walked off, and he could hear him running over to tell his friends.

"He said yes!"

"He said yes?!"

"He said yes!"

Merlin, he was acting like Regulus had just accepted a proposal.

"He said yessss!" James bellowed in excitement.
