Evelyn couldn’t quite explain it, she just felt the eluvian calling to her, calling her every night. It was almost like she could hear it inside her head, summoning her to a meeting.
A meeting, but with whom? She got up in the middle of the night and made her way down to the mirror. Slowly, she reached out. The anchor on her hand lit up and the mirror activated. With a deep breath, she stepped into the eluvian.
She emerged to see a strange clearing. There were seven mirrors gathered in a circle. She gasped as sudden two of the mirrors to her right lit up. Two elves walked out. One by one the other mirrors began to glow, until there were seven people assembled there. They all looked around, no one sure what to say to one another. Then Evelyn’s anchor pulsed again. Simultaneously, everyone else’s hands began pulsing too. Finally, one of them spoke up.
Amara: What is this? Who are all of you?
Vaella: What is this place? This is not how I remember the crossroads…?
Evelyn: I don’t know. I just… I felt a sort of…
Eleanore: A sort of calling?
Eleanore: Have we all felt it then?
Talasa: Is this some sort of dream?
Sango: Can’t be. I’m a dwarf and I’m here.
Amara: (sighs) Solas would probably know…
Vaella: Wait… You know Solas? I know him!
At that moment, all their anchors pulsed again. A slow look of realization came across Sango’s face.
Sango: Morrigan said the crossroads were not the fade, but it was close…
Sango glanced around at the others, some of whom have also started to realize what is happening themselves.
Alex: Inquisitors…? Then… Then we are all Inquisitors?
Evelyn: What does this mean? Have we all come from other times? Other worlds? Is this possible?
Sango: After everything I’ve been through? Why not?
Eleanore: Funny this should happen on the eve of battle.
Talasa: Let me guess… Are we all about to go to the Arbor Wilds?
They all nodded in agreement. It took a moment for this to sink in.
Evelyn: I won’t lie, I’m afraid. I’ve been through a lot but… I don’t know if I’m ready for this…
Alex: I don’t think any of us are, but we cannot give into fear now.
Eleanore: He’s right. We must have faith.
Amara: Faith? Faith in what? The Maker? The Creators?
Evelyn: Perhaps it doesn’t matter. The world may end tomorrow, but we must stay strong and take that stand, no matter what we believe. I’m frightened by what we will face, but I’m more frightened of what will happen if we fail.
Vaella: Then perhaps this is why we are here… we needed that kick in the arse to carry on?
Talasa: Our worlds would fall one way or the other without us. Whatever happens… Inquisitors… Stay strong…
Sango: …Let’s show Corypheus who’s boss…
Vaella: …Let’s take down this would-be god…
Amara: …For the glory of all Thedas…
Alex: …And never loose hope.
Everyone stands up straighter, inspired. Evelyn Looks at them all.
Evelyn: We’ve lived in fear long enough. It’s time to end this. Fellow Inquisitors, it has been an honor.

Once again, thank you to everyone who participated in my Crossroads project! It was a ton of fun to work on, and once I started drawing it, I couldn’t put my pencil down (other than to eat dinner hahaha)
Who knows? Perhaps the crossroads shall open once again in the future? *hint hint* We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
