I had thought the goat men’s design was kind of reminiscent of like a horror movie snuff film executioner design, which is part of the eroticization of the violence enacted against Sua and Mizi, and their own eroticization, but with their faces hidden (as they are both committing a crime, and are sexualized specifically as enactors of violence, with Mizi and Sua as the subjects). So this art is super interesting to me because it reverses that dynamic. It still draws from a sort of horror movie snuff film sort of imagery (the plastic behind them, the gloves on Mizi and Sua’s hands), but here Mizi and Sua are the enactors of violence. At the same time, and this may just be the nature of them being named characters, they still seem to be the subjects of this image, even with a changed power dynamic.
