“I’ll wait on you Jinn! Even if it takes me 99 years! I swear on my name!”
“99? I have bad news-”
"Jinn. How do I earn your heart?"
“That is what you wish to use your question on?”
This entertained Jinn to no end, yet she felt a feeling she hadn’t before. This flattery was close to infatuation, yet she had the wisdom to know how to not act on it and avoid it. Instead, before vanishing back into her relic, she leaned in and kissed the boy’s lips, hands on both of his cheeks.
Their lips parted and she gave parting advice.
“Be yourself, Jaune Arc. Uncensored and true. You will earn the hearts of many this way. And those you do not are not worth your time.”
Mortal Form Jinn AU (Open Roleplay)
Jinn’s talk with the God of Light felt more like a vision than a physical meeting. He was displeased with Jinn allowing Ruby Rose to utilize her time-stopping side-effects when summoned for something other than asking a question.
Regardless of whichever angle Jinn defended it and how she promised it wouldn’t happen again, the god reminded her how him and his brother would not be crossed again - not after Salem. She would learn her lesson in due time. She would learn the pains of mortality.
A blue dress with some translucent parts formed around her body, slippers doing the same around her. Her appearance became both ethereal and humanlike, the God of Light’s intention clearly to gain her unwanted attention.
She awoke, in the midst of unknown company.
“Well... that was interesting. I... feel... so many things.”
@relicofknowledge
So if the Relic of Knowledge wasn’t hidden away at Haven in the vault, I imagine that the lamp would be a neat little trinket that Smarag would pick up and hang around the bar.
Which would make for some odd encounters…
“Hmm. What’s this drink need? Vodka? No. Rum? Gin?”
*foosh*
“…well. Gin it is.”
A cloud of blue smoke began to slowly fill the air around the Relic of Knowledge, Jinn fully forming in front of the man. She twisted her arms in front of herself, her noises here and there indicating she must have been asleep.
“What a wonderful nap.”
She observed her new surroundings and got her bearings rather quickly.
“You summoned me? I am Jinn, the being that resides within the Relic of Knowledge. I may answer three questions every century.”
@heart-of-gold-rogue reblogged your post ““So…you’re the genie in the relic? That’s not my question, by the…”
“Indeed. These ‘truth bombs’ of which you speak of were quite serious.”
Jinn couldn’t reveal them unless Sun asked, and that would waste a question. Of course, the previously mentioned Blake Belladonna would probably clear up any questions he had later.
“Do you seek any knowledge?”
Sun frowned and crossed his arms. “Well, yeah, but if we’re down to the last question of the century, I should probably keep my search somewhere else.” He perked up a bit and looked up at her. “Unless, I mean, we’re at the end of the century. Are askers allowed to know when the century ends and starts again?”
Clearly Sun Wukong still didn’t quite seem to get how this entire exchange worked. Were she feeling temperamental, Jinn would simply answer his question then go back to resting within her relic. However, she was feeling nice. Plus a small bit of laughter coming from her showed he was able to hold her amusement at the very least.
“Allow me to explain how this ordeal works. I am able to answer three questions every century. Once I am summoned, I have three questions I am able to answer. These questions do not replenish until the final question, in which I will slumber for another hundred years after it is asked.”

“Who said anything about re-education. I’m not trying to change her. Just…reminding her that while she may be chief of the tribe, she is not at the top of the food chain, so to speak. Light sparring, if you will.”
“While I’d argue such reminders are unnecessary, sometimes pain and defeat are the most effective in making those like Raven Branwen... humble... again. At least for a while.”

team-orgk:
“I’d say more cautious then clever, but it is good to know that not accidentally sending you into a 100 year slumber will be that simple.”
What a question to be asked. That life he regarded unfavorably for multiple reason, but it had been lifetimes since then and didn’t sting quite so much.
“Oh please, I’m far from a god now. I’d like to think there’s a different being leading people, and ruling over them in that way.”
He took a sip of his drink, admittedly stalling for a second before continuing.
“It was… complicated. I hardly did many of the things one would expect of a god. The scars of my first death were still fresh in mine and Salem’s minds, and my body was still mortal, so certain… precautions were taken to ensure avoid any issues.”
“Yes, but of course.”
Jinn wished not to unintentionally ignore the fact that Ozma’s soul liked to grant as much autonomy as possible with his hosts - however long it was granted before their conscious melded with one another.
That, and it couldn’t do too well that he was the only being on Remnant with memories of the afterlife that awaited all souls.
“Do not fret over your reincarnation powers. Ozma and Ozpin are simply likeminded individuals, as were the ones who came before. If it puts you at ease, do not look at it as one consuming the other. Look at it as a hiveminded collective, becoming harmonious with warriors of light.”
@huntsman-ash from here
“My favorite saying concerning the subject is - there is one good: knowledge. And one evil: ignorance.”
After all, if it weren’t people with malice intents hiding information, it was those who thought they were doing good, slowly growing corrupt or jaded with their own power: information.
“But do not worry, I only have one question left to answer this century. If you are so paranoid, you could utilize it.”
It was nice to see such a kindhearted soul still around in these hard times. Reese appeared easy-going on top of it all, so Jinn wasn’t surprised that her mood was dampened by the malice and selfish actions of others. However, Jinn wanted to assure her that what she did didn’t feel like being used or enslaved. It was a great work of honor to follow the instructions of the God of Light.
“You’re too kind. But I assure you, individuals vying for my power doesn’t make me feel helpless.”
Jinn began to float around Reese, her arms folded and eyes closed while she tried to visualize the best response to this predicament.
“And if it’s any consolation, my day is going just fine. I appreciate the concern, but people needn’t waste questions on something so trivial...”
A slight hum of amusement emanated from the being that normally resided within the Relic of Knowledge. Everything he said earlier was true - he could just fight his way through hordes of Grimm (but that was tiring), he could explore the facility (assuming the place was built by someone other than a madman), or he could just wait for the lockdown to lift.
Or, with the skillset he had, he could just make another exit/entry point.
“You don’t know the half of it.”
The more one learned of Remnant, the more it might drive a normal person mad. Jinn supposed they could just talk while he thought up a solution to this problem.
“So much has happened after Beacon has fallen and the concentration of Grimm has gotten much higher. What is your goal once you leave this place?”

If anyone ever feels self-conscious about being socially anxious, just know that I have like 20 couples come into the store I work at everyday whispering THIS to one another -
Person A: Do they have this thing?
Person B: I don't know, ask her.
Person A: I don't want to, you ask her.
Person B: No, I don't want to either.
Would anyone be interested in a brand new RWBY OC, Atlesian specialist Amethyst Kreiss?
(Yes, she is one of the missing huntsmen and huntresses in Mistral!)

@heart-of-gold-rogue
“Excellent ‘save’, Sun Wukong.”
That would be embarrassing if the final question was wasted on something so trivial and obvious. However, she figured all deserved a proper greeting.
“Luckily for you, I was going to introduce myself anyway. I am Jinn of the Relic of Knowledge. I am able to answer three questions every century, two of which have already been used this hundred years.”
