I think more people would side with abolishing the name if they knew the history and were better educated on why it is offensive.  The term "redskins" was used widely across America during early colonization.  It referred to the actual fucking skins (this is where scalping comes from) of various native peoples that were collected as bounties back when natives were seen as vermin.  This happened across the country by a number of different nations (France, Britain, Spain, etc.) and some of these policies were limited to persons under the age of twelve.  That's right.  The name once referred to the material proof required to receive payment for being the cause of the death of a child.  The fact that this is even considered a "debate" is absolutely ridiculous.  I think anyone who actually knows the history of the term should understand why it is so offensive.  Fuck Daniel Snyder. "It's tradition" my ass. It was also "tradition" at one time for your ancestors to ride around in fucking posses in pursuit of my ancestors fucking skin.  Change the name. It's not that hard. Change the name, and all these people whom you detest so greatly will shut up. Personally, I hope they never shut up.  I hope that America will forever be forced to be reminded of its fucked-up foundations.  America is rooted in the greatest lie ever put to paper: "All men are created equal".  The founders wrote that shit down while they were at home fucking their slaves and on the road exterminating tribes, and calling them niggers and redskins.  Fucking disgusting.  Learn the history and then get in my face and tell me that I have no reason to be angry.
