I think it’s funny to see how many people like reading about this, but it’s also really cool. I don’t think I’ve ever been a part of a community that I felt so involved in before. I’ve met really cool people because of BG3 and I feel like this is also the case for a lot of people!

On a little hiatus. They’re doing work on the house because apparently our floors have “water damage” and they were “surprised we hadn’t fallen through the floor yet.” So I don’t have my PC with me rn 😔 Don’t know how long it’s gonna take. Might just whip out my laptop but it’s not the same.

Mom Plays BG3: Ep.6 - “It’s a Woof.”

It’s been a while! Work/School/Life… yeah.

Anyway! It’s a long one today, boys.

(So a little recap of what’s kinda going on with her character! She’s been going back and forth between the Goblin Camp and the Blighted Village. So, she went and talked to Priestess Gut, but when she tried to kill her in her office an entire fight broke out so she got overwhelmed and reloaded lol. So instead she explored more, killed Minthy, talked to Halsin, and used the Waypoint to get back to the village.)

Rundown:

Shart had mentioned Shar and my mom was like “I don’t have anything against Shar worshippers if that’s what you were afraid of.”

After that she asked me if Shar was evil.

Me: “Well… I mean I guess that kind of depends on how you see her? I guess? She’s like a goddess of pain and darkness.”

Mom: “Well that doesn’t sound good. Why does she follow her?”

Me: “You told her you were cool with it.”

Mom: “I was ignorant.”

I had been WAITING for her to go to the well and she finally clicked on it.

Sees she gets an advantage as a ranger on a nature check.

Mom: “I’m a ranger! I’ve got this! Oh god please let me got this…”

Me: *starts laughing when she chooses an intelligence check to investigate.*

Mom: “WHAT. My -1 intelligence!?”

Goes down the rope

PISSES ME OFF BECAUSE SHE TOTALLY ANNIHILATED ALL OF THE FUCKING SPIDERS WHEN IT TOOK ME SO MANY RELOADS THE FIRST TIME. AND NOT ONLY THAT- THE BIG ASS SPIDER DIDN’T EVEN HATCH THE BABY ONES!!

Then Lae’zel wants to talk 🙂

This is where I’m like “okay she’s gonna be like ‘what the hell kinda games are you playing.’”

Lae’zel: “I want to taste you.”

Mom: “Uh… okay.” (Clicks no thanks.)

Queen of gently letting someone down.

Whenever the characters climb onto crates she’s like “PARKOUR!”

Clicked on a body with money.

Mom: “Yayyy! I haven’t seen money in a while.”

Me: “Same.”

She went to the windmill, guys. I was so fucking excited.

Also she keeps using the brain worm even though she doesn’t trust it lol

Went to save Barcus and was looking around the windmill. I made her do a save real quick when I saw her heading to the levers.

LAUNCHES BARCUS INTO THE FUCKING SUN.

Mom: (First, horror. Then, losing her mind) “I guess I wound up teaching him how to fly better than that other guy.”

Mom: (reloads lol)

Goes back to the Goblin Camp and talks to those goblin kids. They tell her to kick the corpse and she cracks up that she has the option to. She kicks the corpse.

Talks to Crusher and tells him he should kiss her feet. She has ZERO charisma btw. And she needs to roll a 15.

Mom: (Weighing her options.)

Me: “You don’t have any rizz.”

Mom: “I know… I GOTTA DO IT!”

ROLLS A 16

Mom: “YEAAAH!”

Crusher kisses her feet.

Mom: “He didn’t even let me take off my shoes first.”

All of the goblins just like “ew Crusher licked toes!”

She explores some more and kind of makes a circle back to where she started.

Mom: “Oh yeah, I remember this. Yeah, they’re all really mean and they’re drunk.”

She ends up going back inside and killing Gut and those goblins. She picks up the tadpole and has that option to resist it and does resist it because she still doesn’t trust the Dream Visitor.

Astarion tells her that he would be more than happy to take it off her hands.

Mom: (turns to me, whispering like he can hear her) “You know I actually wouldn’t mind if he took it.”

IT HAPPENED. ASTARION TRIED TO BITE HER IN HER SLEEP.

Astarion: “Shit.”

Mom: *Laughing like crazy. Chooses the options that are like ‘why did you lie to me, I can’t believe it. Ultimately lets him drink from her. Stops him after the first round.*

Astarion: (FERAL) “That was amazing… [blah blah blah] I thought you might turn up with torches and pitchforks… though it looks like there might still be time.”

Shadowheart: “So he’s a vampire? I should have known judging from his pallor.”

Mom: “Did you not see his fangs this whole time?”

Goes to talk to Astarion after.

Mom: “Tell me about your history.”

Astarion: “Why do you insist on exhuming the past!?”

Mom: “Hey. Take it easy.”

After leaving camp, Shart has something to say.

Shart: “There’s… something that I would like to share with you…”

Mom: “What’s with all these secrets?!”

Shart: “I want to show you something.”

Mom: “I don’t like using the parasite.” (Still let’s Sharty bae into her brain.)

It’s the memory of Shart in the woods and she sees a wolf. We had just finished watching New Girl.

Mom:

Mom: “Her hair… was this her in her anime phase?”

She goes back to the Goblin Camp to take out Dror Ragzlin. She got a little stressed out during that fight lol.

Mom: (clicks on Gale’s quaterstaff) “Will this DO anything?? I don’t know, this guy’s pretty weak.”

Mom: “HOW DO YOU MISS! YOU’RE SO CLOSE!”

Me: “I mean… it tells you when you’re too close-“

Mom: “But why do I have a disadvantage? I CAN SEE HIM.”

(Enemy goes after Wyll)

Mom: “Get away from him!”

Me: “Yeah! Get away from her boyfriend!”

Mom: “YEAH!”

She beat all of them and then went to the prison to talk to Halsin. She passes by a rat.

Mom: “A rat! Astarion, your friend!”

Me: 😀

All in all was a pretty good chunk of playtime. For one of the play throughs we didn’t even set a timer and played til like midnight. She comes over and she’s like “are we gonna play tonight :D” and bought hot Cheetos because, and I quote, “we’re gamers.”

Oh, also she met Auntie Ethel, idr if I mentioned that before, but she hasn’t gone to save Mayrina yet. She started that quest but after Ethel went into her little cave my mom went straight back to the Goblin camp. Her reaction to Ethel’s real form was “ew.”

Mom Plays BG3: Ep.5 - “Okay, Baron Afanas.”

First things first: She knows how to use waypoints now and got all the way from Dammon to the Blighted Village by herself 😌 To AND fro.

RUNDOWN:

It’s happening. She feels bad for being mean to Gale! Sort of lol. He needed an item and she talked to him. She told him “it’s more useful to me if unconsumed.”

Gale: “Ah, ever the pragmatist. But I assure you it is important I use this item.”

Mom: *Hands him the hat that restores bardic inspiration.*

Gale: *Eats a whole hat.* “The Magic wasn’t enough to satisfy it, but nevertheless thank you… it wasn’t easy for you to part with, nor easy to obtain. Truly, I thank you.”

Mom: *GUILT.*

Thinks Karlach is cool.

Had not encountered traps yet.

Encountered one.

She’s been clicking on chests when she sees one and waits for the character to get there themselves.

Mom: “Oh, a chest!”

Mom: *Clicks on it. Explodes. Soul leaves body.*

Astarion: “Oh look, someone’s left a trap out for us.”

She met Withers and loved that whole scene where the skeletons came to life. "It's so The Walking Dead!"

Her face exactly:

AAHH I'm just super excited because I can tell she's legitimately starting to get more into the game, not just because I wanted her to play. Like it's a different vibe. I usually set a timer for an hour and that's all we'll play, but the timer's been going off and she wants to play a little longer.

She's a gamer now, my dudes. She literally told me “Let’s play right now and you can finish up your homework after.” She didn’t even want to watch New Girl.

She feels like Withers is going to be important. I’m just thinking like “bestie, he’s gonna live with you literally rent free.

Withers: “We will meet again when the time is right.”

Mom: “… Okay, Baron Afanas… Because he looks like The Baron-“

Me: “Yeah.”

She threw dung at the goblins 😌

She’s been getting one-shots like CRAAAZY. Weirdest fucking luck.

She met her dream guardian. Has mixed feelings. How before she’s been using her illithid powers like crazy, after meeting the dream guardian she’s iffy about it now. Astarion called her an utter drip. She pouted.

She talked to Withers in the morning.

Withers: “There is little else to explain.”

Mom: “Can you elaborate?”

Withers: “No.”

Mom: “… okay…”

Astarion has still NOT told her he is a vampire 😀 But she’s been sitting on some pretty consistent neutral approval with him. She has had two dreams with the Emperor and has mixed feelings. She also said the dream visitor was ugly 😭

Me: “You literally MADE him!”

Mom: “I must have been in a rush.”

She picked up on the fact that Gale called his dream visitor a she and my mom’s is male. Which tbh I didn’t pick up on it because both of my dream guardians were she’s. 😗

SHE DID THE LOVIATAR THING LOL

Her face the whole time:

It was the morbid curiosity part of her that went through with it. But also because Karlach was like “I HAVE TO SEE THIS.”

She went down into the dungeons and freed the bear, but when the fight was over she talked to Halsin. She talked to him about The Grove and the tadpoles and everything. I was expecting her to be like “😏 who’s this guy?”

Mom: “… wait… was he the bear? Who is this guy??”

She thought he was just some guy who showed up out of nowhere lol

“Well… thank you for helping me, Mr. Bear. I guess… okay.”

Looked around the prison and looted some barrels. Literally so pumped finding the barrels full of pork meat and the pig head.

Mom: “You said the gears mean I can use it, right? Why is there an x on this one?”

Me: “You can sit on that bench or interact with it, but it’s out of reach. That table is blocking it.”

Mom: “The one with the mystery meat on it? I don’t wanna sit on that… ewwww.”

She freed Volo but didn’t tell him where the camp was.

He showed up later anyway and she was just like “Where did he even come from?!”

Shooed the goblins from hurting Liam.

Mom: “Alright, homeboy, what’s up. What’s going on.” *clicks to talk to him.*

Liam: *literally being tortured* “Please let me out of here.”

I forgot what she needed to do a check for, but she had to roll a 16 and had a +7 advantage.

Mom: *Rolls a 3.*

Mom: *Turns to me and goes 😏*

Me: “You failed.”

Mom: “My math isn’t great.”

She killed Minthy! But tbh I did, too, during my first play through because I didn’t know about the whole knocking her out thing. To be fair, she did not make the best first impression.

Minthara: “Another child of the Absolute in such a grotesque form.”

Mom: “Hey… take it easy.”

Yeah this whole session was just straight up confusion. She did reload because she started a fight after attacking Glut. She is currently still exploring the whole place. I might have her come back after going to Auntie Ethel’s to meet the Gur hunter just because I’m wondering why it’s taking so long for Astarion to tell her about the vampire thing.

Oh shit also Gale told her about his orb. She was not pleased. SHE ALMOST TOLD HIM TO LEAVE!! But she kept him. She also clicks on the companions to hear what they have to say.

Shadowheart: “I would have liked to have known the circumstances of the company I would keep before signing onto this journey.”

Mom: “Girl, you’re one to talk.”

So now she’s a little mad at Gale for a different reason. At least she knows he’s not lying 😀

When she finds an enchanted item she makes a show of it to send it to anyone BESIDES Gale to hold onto until he needs it because she thinks he’s going to use it right away lol

Bro and she’s gonna be pissed when Astarion confesses lol because he’s all “why would you guys keep secrets!”

She let Volo stab her eye, but chickened out in the end.

Sorry this is kind of a long post, this is an amalgamation of about a few days. Also it was her birthday on Wednesday :D

Mom Plays BG3: Ep.4 - “Uh, hello? We have Cheese?”

Today was a pretty chill day. We both had the day off and I went with her to the store. Since in-game she found a bunch of sausage and cheese we decided to put together a little makeshift charcuterie board for when we play. We also just finished episode 15 of New Girl.

Anyway.

Today’s accomplishments:

She took down Anders and the other fake paladins.

She literally has the weirdest luck. Like, she had a +2 advantage to read Aradin’s body language and failed that intelligence check because she had to roll a 10 and got a 3… but she succeeded to detect his thoughts with a -1 disadvantage and rolled a 16.

Mom: (after failing the first check) “What? Oh… the other option doesn’t look good for me… BUT I HAVE TO TRY!”

She has gotten down the whole taking turns thing pretty well. Only thing is she doesn’t use anything but her weapons. She’d rather use her crossbow instead of any spells. And I don’t think she really understands bonus actions yet… but she’s been winning all of the battles on her own, so whatever works.

She learned about Wyll’s pact with Mizora 😬

She was pretty quiet throughout that whole interaction. She talked to the other companions before talking to Karlach or Wyll.

Shadowheart: “Although I must admit his new look is rather… dashing.”

Mom: 😏

Went over and talked with Wyll. She got 3 approvals from him!!

Wyll: “Mizora would have to let me out of the pact willingly… We would have to out-bargain her, but we have nothing but the clothes on our backs and the tadpoles in our heads.”

Mom: “Um, hello? We have Sausages and cheese?! And wine?!”

Me: “Wine and dine Mizora?”

Mom: “Uh, yeah!?”

Called Wyll a handsome devil lol

A big fan of Karlach’s dance moves. Just giggles whenever she sees it

I asked her what she thought of Mizora.

Mom: “She reminds me of that one girl in Ouran Highschool Host Club. She just pops up out of the ground… ruins everybody’s day.”

We went and talked to Dammon.

And that’s where we left off so far :)

I did ask her what she thought of the characters. She really likes all of the girlies and Wyll.

Mom: “Shart, I feel, has the most sense of urgency. She just wants us to focus and get the tadpoles out. Lae’zel is also very no nonsense, gets things done, very determined, and I feel like Karlach is going to be that way, too. Wyll is a really good guy in the same way I felt about Captain America in the first movie. Any movie, really. He’s just a really good guy and does the right thing. But with Gale, he doesn’t have that same sense of urgency about the tadpoles. He’s just here because we invited him. Astarion… I don’t know much about him… yeah, I don’t know much about him.”

She doesn’t understand that Gale is just a chill guy 😔

Mom Plays BG3: Ep.3 - “We Interrupted them!”

After ending the last session she said "That guy. The way he talks."

Me: "... Gale?"

Mom: "No, that Raphael guy!"

Me: "You've been using 'that guy' and 'this guy' exclusively for Gale so far, so I thought you were talking about him!"

Mom: "Well I thought him and that Raphael were going to get into a word fight. Gale could take him."

(Raphael v. Gale rap battle when)

I also may have accidentally made my mom paranoid. Before we started playing she asked me “So all of these people I’ve been asking to join my group… can you have someone bad join, too? Like bad guys?”

Me: “… um… yes?”

Mom: “So is Gale a bad guy? I only know Astarion is kind of okay, or has had a rough go of it, because of what you’ve said when you played.”

Me: “Well, I wouldn’t want you to choose characters based off of what I know, I want you to learn about them yourself.”

Mom: “Because I’ve been asking them to join me because I know you had them in your group. But if some of them are bad… (deep breath) Okay. I don’t trust Gale. But I also think Wyll seems like a really good guy. But what if… (gasps) what if he’s a deceiver! Making me think he’s a good guy!”

So now she thinks she can’t trust anybody or that everyone has it out for her.

Today was a big day! She met Scratch and Karlach!

She’s slowly getting a better hang of the map. I know I said that last time, but she still refuses to even LOOK at it. She has started relying on the little compass in the top corner and trying to follow the little quest signals on there.

Rundown on what she did today:

When crossing the bridge by the Blighted Village she said “oh! Bodies!” and started looting.

Talked to Aradin and after looted some more bodies.

Got into a fight with the goblins, so she got a little more familiar with battle mechanics. Doesn’t understand why she can’t hit the goblin in one of the buildings.

Mom: “Why can’t I just go there.”

Me: “You can only move so much.”

Mom: “Well why can’t I just go inside.”

Me: “You’d have to jump but I think it’s too high for your character. You can check if you can.”

Mom: *After some explaining she clicks the jump button and checks.* “So I can’t.”

Me: “No. But! If you move to get a good angle, you might be able to still use a ranged attack to get her- no, don’t move that way!”

Mom: *Starts clicking and gets more obstructed.*

Me: “Well… you still have Gale in a good spot.”

Mom: *Gets Gale in the perfect spot. Casts fire bolt. Misses.*

Mom: “What happened to 75%?!”

Me: “Yeah.”

She had told Wyll she’d help him hunt down Karlach, so that’s where she’s been trying to go on the map. She looks at it once and then goes where she thinks she needs to go (which always is way off).

She also doesn’t know why she can’t jump on top of rocks or why she can only walk in some water.

Mom: “But I need to go over these rocks! It’s on the map!”

Me: “I know, but… you can’t.”

Mom: “But we climbed the other ones.”

Me: “Yeah, I know, but these ones are just different. If you look at the map-“

Mom: (groans) “I KNOW ABOUT THE MAP-“

Me: “Nonononono I’m not nagging about the map, it’s just that you can also see where you can walk or not. Open it. See? There’s like a shaded spot with a black outline. You can’t pass. And you can recognize the surroundings and see that there are little paths you could take. So look. At. Where. You. Want. To. Go… and maybe there’s an alternative route for you to take. Even if you haven’t traveled there yet, it still shows you places to walk.”

Learned how to pickpocket.

Read Scratch’s collar and laughed when he said ‘you knew my name, so you can’t be bad.’

Looted Gomwick’s body and read the note.

Note: [Get home safe. I don’t want to find you lying in a ditch somewhere.]

Mom: “Too late. Oh, apples… for camp!”

Went to the gnoll attack site. She mercy killed that first hyena and killed the rest.

Looted those corpses and found a bunch of sausage links and potatoes. Started clicking like crazy yelling “Everybodyyy! Dinnerrrr! Wait… the sausage says ‘Damage.’ (Lets out a loud HA)”

She found the Paladins of Tyr first and talked to them. She told them “I’ll think about it.”

Made her way to Karlach. She wound up defending Karlach and said she would help her take down the paladins. Talked to the others.

Karlach: "We'll take the fight to them."

Mom: "... Girl, I don't even know how I got down here."

Lae’zel: “Karlach is a force to be reckoned with and speaks her mind plainly. You will give her due respect.”

Mom: *Turns to me.*

Mom: “I knew she’d like her.”

She found the two creatures having fun in the barn. Got into a fight with them and looted the bodies.

Mom: "They don't have anything!"

Me: "I mean... they were having fun?"

Mom: *Cracking up* "We interrupted them!"

Gale was hunched over and my mom completely ignored him. I literally had to point out "Amá, the wizard. He's doubled over."

Very reluctantly gave Gale a necklace. Was distraught that it took the magic out of it lol. She was so happy to get that necklace from Arabella's parents and that it made little lights. It was between that, some other necklace that gives guidance, or a hat. My mother is not a fan of Gale's dietary restrictions.

I asked her "How did it feel having to give Gale the necklace."

Her words exactly: (eyeroll. sigh.) "It felt like... giving a kid a toy just to get him to stop crying. You don't believe him; you just want him to shut up."

Her expression:

I actually have a question, a curiosity, if you will.

Supposed that you now have the chance of romancing an NPC from the game (aside from the obvious ones -like Orin, Gortash, Raphael etc. etc.)

Mom Plays BG3: Ep.2 - “Look at Him, He Wants It”

She’s getting better at moving around. It’s hard to explain but she doesn’t turn the camera to look around before she starts clicking around to move 😀

Mom: “I’m trying to go behind me.”

Me: “You should turn the camera so you can look behind you.”

Mom: “I’m worried I’ll get lost.”

Me: “I know a way to help you from getting lost.”

Both of us: *Silence.*

Me: “The map-“

Mom: “The map.”

Mom: *Slowly turns the camera - Not because she doesn’t know how, she just turns it very slowly for some reason.*

Mom: “I think… I need to walk that way…”

Mom: *Immediately starts clicking the opposite way she wants to go.*

Me: “You can… check the map.”

Mom: *Keeps clicking for a bit then stops.*

Mom: *Checks map.*

Mom: “Oh I’m way off.”

Me (softly): “yeah.”

*Both of us laugh.*

She’s definitely getting the hang of things. She successfully got to Zevlor’s office by herself using the map 🥲 They grow up so fast.

Rundown of what she has done this time:

While we were starting the game up she said “I kept thinking about what happened. It kept me up, I couldn’t sleep just thinking about him (Gale) getting mad. He really rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t know about this guy.”

Saved the kid from the Harpies. Actually, she did that yesterday, but I forgot to add it.

Saved Arabella but after failing two persuasion checks. She was stressed throughout that whole interaction. Before that, she had talked to Arabella’s parents but didn’t know what was going on and told them “thieves deserve to be punished.”

“I didn’t know what they were talking about! To be honest I have no idea what’s going on. Or what any of this means.”

Her first reload. Luckily I had her save before that. She then told them they had their work cut out for them lol.

She took the wyvern toxin from Nettie. (Afterwards I told her “Oh, she tried to kill me when I wouldn’t take it. We fought to the death.” My mom was just like “…Well. Doesn’t mean I have to drink it. I’ll just keep it. I wasn’t gonna take it, are you crazy?”)

We long rested and she talked to all of the companions. I think she really likes Wyll.

Told Zevlor she’d kill Kagha.

She stopped the Tieflings from killing Sazza, but failed a couple of persuasion checks. Left Sazza in the cage.

Sazza: “I don’t need you.”

Mom: “Well… that’s enough of that.”

Also accidentally clicked to search the body of that first Tiefling who died at the gate when the Goblins attacked, and right in front of the one mourning over his body 😬 Gets scolded.

Mom: “I didn’t mean it! Let me see if the other one wants to talk…”

Mom: *clicks on other mourning Tiefling.*

Tiefling: “Can’t you see we’re mourning!”

Mom: “I just came over to say sorry.” (Booked it after lol)

Killed the Bugbear assassin and saved the tiefling by the telescope.

Talked to the Tiefling and learned about soul coins.

When her TAV had the coin in her hand and was looking at it, Gale was in the background smiling.

Mom: *Points at Gale.*

Mom: “Hm. Look at him, he wants it. Uh-uh. This guy’s trouble.”

My mom is not afraid to use the illithid powers. If there’s an option to probe minds, she does it immediately lol.

She went to that area with the spider egg pouch and Raphael showed up there which confused me. (I’ve just always had him show up at the bridge. I had her save). Here’s the thing about my mom - she’s pretty religious and doesn’t like ‘devil’ stuff lol I collect tarot cards and she HATES it lol. It creeps her out. So Raphael shows up and transports her to the House of Hope with the feast on the table and the fireplace. My mom knows nothing about this guy. Her immediate reaction:

Mom: “Now this is more like it.”

I’m sitting behind her so she can’t see my reactions to what she’s doing and I’m losing my shit, wondering if she’ll make the deal or not. She’s been so unpredictable so far so I genuinely don’t know what she’s gonna choose.

Raphael: “What’s better than a devil you don’t know… A devil you do.”

Mom: *Silent.*

Raphael: *blah blah blah wants your soul.*

She doesn’t make the deal. Chooses the options that are like “I would never make a deal with a devil.”

Gale made some valid points that she didn’t disagree with. I don’t think that Gale can say ANYTHING without her thinking he’s up to something. He did not make a great first impression lol She did slap his hand before she pulled him out of the portal.

Said he was addicted to magic but still agreed to give him magical items to consume, but she’s not thrilled about the whole thing.

OH YEAH SHE TOLD ROLAN AND THEM TO LEAVE THE GROVE. I’ve done two playthroughs and didn’t do that, so idk if that’s gonna change what happens to the tieflings at all 😬

She also takes time to read whatever notes or books I point out to her. I told her she didn’t have to, but she ignores me to read.

I’ve convinced my mom to play BG3 because I think she’d like it, but in exchange I have to watch one of her shows. So if I watch an hour’s worth with her, she plays an hour of BG3 etc. She’s making me watch New Girl.

We haven’t gotten that far, she’s working out the mechanics, but her TAV is a High Elf Ranger with a Sage background. I think she chose Wood Elf?

Main Takeaways thus far:

She thinks Lae’zel is intense and aggressive, but she’s kinda funny.

Told Lae’zel to say please to save her and thought it was hilarious.

Calls Shadowheart ‘Shart’ because she’s heard me call her that. I now refer to her as ‘Sharty Bae.’

Thinks Astarion is entertaining and clicks to talk to him first after major interactions.

Thinks Wyll is a good guy, but her tone of voice that she said it in is similar to how she feels about Thor. So I’m thinking she might romance Wyll.

IMMEDIATELY SUSPICIOUS OF GALE. She said “he’s too happy.” She does NOT trust Gale lol. She didn’t like how he got mad when she probed his mind. She said “Well he’s keeping secrets from me! He should understand that I don’t trust him,” and I said “well to be fair you should have told him that. I don’t think you read all of the dialogue options.”

I have learned she is incredibly impulsive lol. She picks the dialogue options that were similar to what she was already thinking without reading the other ones. She failed a persuasion check and Zevlor punched Aradin because she also didn’t check whether or not she had any advantages or disadvantages.

“I forget to check!”

We have not met Karlach yet and are still searching the Grove. She’s already done things I hadn’t seen before lol. I legit thought we’d play it the same, but she also refuses to learn how to use the map and is relying on me to show her where to go.

Me: “Okay, press M to look at your map to see where to go.”

Mom: “… why.”

Me: “Mom, you have to learn how to use the map.”

Mom: “I don’t even know where I am.”

Me: “So use the map.”

Mom: “But I don’t know where to go.”

Me: “So use the map.”

Mom: “Am I even going in the right direction?”

Me: “AMÁ, USE YOUR MAP!”

So far she doesn’t re-roll and just takes the fails. I told her “oh, you can reroll with inspiration you’ve gained if you want” and she just goes “NAAAAAAH.”

From the times I’ve told her about the game, I’ve never told her about Halsin, much about Karlach, Minsc, or Jaheira, so I’m curious what she’ll think about them. But it’s probably gonna take a WHILE!
