If no one else is gonna say it then I will, being excited to see Sunfyre kill Rhaenyra, is weird, it's not normal and it's misogynistic.
Being happy for a male character to die and a female character to die has completely different history and weight behind it, women are constantly getting killed simply for being women it's called femicide, women are constantly on the receiving end of attacks of any kind all bc if their existence, people are misogynistic towards women and spread double standards like it's something so normal to do, you can think that people being excited by either a male character's death or a female character's death is weird and a concept that is unnecessary overall as well, and it's fair and I don't disagree, but you simply cannot ignore that when a woman is the target not only is it a more hateful attack from this people but also a more disgusting way to express it, and you add all that to the fact that this show is about a woman being usurped for being a woman and her death is so closely related to that and is so cruel and viscous, and it makes everything so much worse.
So people being so comfortable saying shit like this is very concerning, and I'm tired of people having the absolute fucking audacity to say "it's just fiction" "it's a character" it does not matter, the way you act towards a character, someone who is not real, should automatically make people question how tf you would act towards real people, not to mention that while they are characters the experiences they have are things that real women go through in their real life in real life scenarios. It's not for no reason that so many people are THANKFULLY, trying to prevent haunting Adeline from becoming a live action movie, bc yes those are characters, but those represent real people and their stories.
Y'all are fucking weird.
