this is the most insane overreaction to someone saying something on their own tumblr blog - she didn’t call out a specific fic for being bad, just that she hadn’t found any yet that stood out. she’s entitled to share her own opinion in her own space.
no, the original poster is spreading unnecessary, discouraging, and unneeded negativity. writers are what help make and keep fandom spaces communities! to just disregard that, i think is utterly disrespectful
fanfic writers do not force you to read anything, they write for their own enjoyment and fun. we aren’t all out here with literary degrees, for some of us it isn’t our first language, we’re just here to talk about a ship we love (safield).
no, i don’t think you have to like every fanfic, you’re free to hate all of it if you want, but our space is already small and just more negativity being posted online is really not what anyone needs.

It's heartbreaking that it becomes clear how in love Safi is with Max only after she'd been traumatized by Max's actions beyond repair. When I imagined Safi returning to Caledon I expected it would be with all the flourish of a rising god complex, not that she'd be incredibly depressed and enraged with max for trapping her between life and death in a weird purgatory dream. i have to hand it to the writers because i did not see that coming. she probably thought they would have time to work things out together, but by the time they have their first real conversation at the snapping turtle, safi had already met chloe and believed that no matter what happened next she would never, ever be max's first choice (especially true for the bay>bae timeline).
can you imagine. already being deeply traumatized by what happened with maya, her mom, the storm, reliving the memory of the girl she loves shooting her over and over, only to then have max's long lost love return out of the blue to replace her. and in spite of it all she spends the game begging Max to see her, to choose her anyway. holy fuck i would lose my mind too

After 240 hours, I finally finished painting this! Initially, I painted the two scenes separately, then painted the water linking them together in the middle. The parallels at the beginning and end of Bioshock 2 really got me 😭😭😭
