Pronoun roles on discord servers aren't a bad idea, but there is the fun implication that you can ping an entire pronoun set.
Hey I got a problem with something, this is an all they/thems on deck situation
I never post here but I didn’t know where to post this :P
wow amazing beautiful transcendant best edit oomffff
I know we talk a lot about the literacy crisis and the horrible anti-intellectualism happening rn but I think we need to talk more about how much of an entitlement complex the stupidest among us have developed
if you don’t know what a word means, look it up.
if you can’t look it up, use context clues.
Overuse of purple prose is a problem in Fantasy, but “scrying” is just, like, the word for a specific kind of magic. That degree of specificity and the vibe archaic arcane-sounding words lend to the magic they describe is a feature of the genre that readers expect & want. This is like getting mad a book about Egypt used the word Pharaoh or papyrus instead of “king” or “paper made out of reeds”.

whatever you say about wicked i think it’s objectively funny that they did a scene where they confess their love for each other and then one of them locks the other in a closet and fakes her own death and John m Chu explained it by claiming he recieved a vision from god
Some of the charm of book Gelphie is that Glinda believes she’s cursed and eventually finds redemption due pretty much exclusively to the power of lesbian love. Which is kind of radical and extremely beautiful as a concept but downplayed by the fact that Glinda is not woke and moderately to extremely annoying. So you don’t really realize what’s happening
Book glinda will be like “I dreamed Elphaba came to me in a moment of divine spirit and answered all my questions. But perhaps that was just a foundational longing.” And then she’ll be like “I had no idea my servants weren’t getting paid.” Girl if you don’t lock in….
WICKED (2024) — dir. Jon M. Chu
i think one of the charm points of glinda's character is she doesn't really seem to hold grudges against other people. if anything i argue glinda is too conflict averse and this is one of her whole problems and she could stand to be madder at the things other people do. into her later life she blames herself for stuff she knows morrible did. but it's also why people could get her incandescently mad for 2 seconds and she would just calm down after that. boq thought she was really cute when she was mad and elphaba clearly thought so too because she kept provoking her for fun. on the other hand get elphaba mad once 20 years ago and see what happens.
ariana once again confirming that gelphie fell in love with each other
kiss me goodbye
we used to have characters named papa poutine and small fry :( we used to have television :(
Cheryl had so many excellent insults on Riverdale but calling Veronica "closet monster" in s1 has to be one of my underrated faves. The mix of internalised homophobia and plausible deniabity because Veronica DID kiss Archie in a closet. Even though the insult is used when Veronica is being gay and possessive over Betty. We used to have homophobic lesbian Cheryl Blossom saying things like get your sapphic serpent hands off my body on our TV screens 😔😔 We used to have her putting a curse on her ex gfs baby. We used to have her getting possessed by her lesbian ancestor so they could have gay sex with their long lost love while Cheryl's soul was kept in a jar. We used to have reformed no longer homophobic lesbian Cheryl accusing others of queerbaiting and of course. We used to have It's not queerbaiting it's saving the world. I miss television.
in a show like riverdale, where every character is queer and toxic, gay kevin circles around to being the boring heterosexual of the group.
Some tv shows: sometimes we have some political stuff but we don’t want to commit to anything too hard and alienate our audience
Riverdale: our show’s villains include CAPITALISM and the PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and GENTRIFICATION and RICH PEOPLE who are all EVIL and also the DEVIL who is RACIST and his weaknesses include UNIONS and HOUSING THE HOMELESS and also everyone is GAY and POLYAMOROUS and the world was saved by LESBIAN SEX
