15 Years and a New Studio Location

Today Reuben Hernandez Studios celebrates 15 years of making stuff, creativity, and resilience. We have also moved into a new studio location at 67 West Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and are now located in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We were actually in the same Brooklyn building before the pandemic so it feels like a full circle, homecoming moment. Five years ago, there was a lot of uncertainty and we were unsure if we could continue this work. And here we are. Thanks to everyone that that has supported and believed in us on this wild journey. We look forward to seeing you at our new studio.

Christian Siriano X Unisom

This year I had the pleasure of filming part of this Met Gala Sleeping Beauties campaign featuring Christian Siriano for Unisom. The campaign won Social Media Campaign of the Year at the 2024 Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards presented by Modern Healthcare and Ad Age. Thanks to Shane LaVancher, The Martin Agency, and Lippe Taylor for the opportunity. Congrats to The Martin Agency and everyone that worked on this campaign!

This year I also filmed part of a documentary feature film and was a director of photography on a true crime TV series. I’m grateful for these projects and am looking forward to what 2025 will bring. Happy New Year!

Grammy Award Nomination for Dynamic Maximum Tension

Congrats to Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society for their fourth Grammy Award nomination for Dynamic Maximum Tension in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category! Reuben directed both the behind the scenes video for Dynamic Maximum Tension and the music video for “Dymaxion”, the opening track on the album. We’re so honored to have worked on this project and you can watch both videos below. The Grammy Awards will take place Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Her Favorite Patient Screening at Cinema Village

I’m excited to share Her Favorite Patient will screen theatrically at Cinema Village on Sunday, 11/12 at 6:30 pm with seven other short films. Her Favorite Patient screening at Peekskill Film Festival

We’re excited to share that Her Favorite Patient will have its Hudson Valley premiere at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in competition at the Peekskill Film Festival on Saturday, June 25th at 5 pm EST. Coastlines: At the Water's Edge hardcover book

I’m excited to announce that one of my Antarctica images has been published in the hardcover book, Coastlines: At the Water’s Edge by Emily Nathan, published by Ten Speed Press and released this week. This is my first book publication so I’m absolutely honored to be a part of this project. I received an advance copy of the book earlier this month and was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful and stunning the book turned out. It’s been wonderful to see my image in print and to share my work with a broader audience. Coastlines is a love letter to the sea and the planet that’s been years in the making, and we hope it will inspire you to take small and large steps to protect our planet.
