Garden of Memories

Just, bury me in the soft melancholy of Freiren on her journey surrounded by ghosts every step of the way. The feeling of waking up and recognizing that time passed you by without you realizing it is something I find very poignant.

I know I could have gone Very Somber with this, but there's something about the brightness of the series' color palette that really captures me. It's a subdued melancholy, out in the full light of the sun, walking with you every step of the way.

I visited a gorgeous historical Edwardian estate back in December and used some of the photos from that garden to inspire this fantasy environment. Ironically most of the garden is 100% different except for the glowing white orb in the back, which was absolutely taken from my photos (bless).

A fairy who used to be a mermaid

✨Confession time✨ I don't like the way Elina looks by the end of Mermaidia :') So the logical thing to do was draw her XD

Well what I mean is I wanted to do a bit of a redesign inspired by her doll. I only recently noticed that her skirt is supposed to be like a jellyfish, and thought it would be somethig cool to remind her she was a mermaid at some point. Also kept her pearl necklace cause all this pink needed a touch of blue.

Mermaidia

Mermaidia is an underwater realm where merpeople can be found. The mersociety is located beside Mermaid Cove. Beyond the merfolk, merfairies and the Sea Butterfly also reside in Mermaidia. The kingdom and its inhabitants are ruled over by Prince Nalu. Those who can't breathe underwater naturally can eat a special kind of kelp to visit Mermaidia for a short time. Underwater residents enjoy socializing, playing hide-and-seek, playing with sea animals and relaxing by watching things swim by or lounging above water.
