The whole russia conspiracy aspect of contemporary liberalism actually matters, because it reveals the extent to which American liberals are incapable of reconciling themselves to the white supremacist reality of United States. Faced with a president that openly embraces and flirts with white supremacy, liberals only response is âwe americans cant possibly have been the ones to do this, it has to be an external forceâ which is really emblematic of liberalismâs inability to account for the violence and injustice which it is founded on.
the military is evil and I mean letâs not prioritize âprogressiveâ military action lmao but donât act like banning trans people isnât symbolic and a step at sweeping out LGBT rights and safety in this country either like, having different levels of citizenship for marginalized people is uh. Bad
the lack of jobs is a corporatist lie, some people work way more than 8 hours a day while other people are completely jobless. in places where the âlack of jobsâ is rampant (read: developing countries) working more than 8 hours a day is a norm, you donât get paid for working overtime; if you donât want to work overtime there are many jobless ppl who would to survive and thus your employer would replace you
ofc some first worlder would blab some nonsense about how ppl who work a lot choose to do so to earn more money bcs yeah, thatâs in your country where you get paid to work overtime, but that just isnât the reality for, like, 90% of worldâs population
the thing is that in many countries with a lack of political power and a bad financial situation foreign companies exploit the domestic population in order to reduce running costs, but that doesnât merely extend to low paychecks, instead they deliberately create a job lack by making one person do the job two could (bcs they just can when the state is unable to interfere) to create a lack of jobs on the market which causes more despair for jobs and further drop of prices of labor in the market
and the usual excuse for this is âwell, there just arenât enough qualified ppl to do this jobâ although the lack of qualifications is too imposed
you canât convince me that you couldnât educate people to do basic jobs at many firms, the absolute majority of jobs are based on tasks an average person could do with appropriate training and most tasks are doable without a college diploma
to put this in perspective: most IT jobs alone can be done after a few courses or even just by reading books and watching tutorials on the internet on how to work with specific tools and not full college education and they fall under extremely well-paying jobs
most ppl obtain college degrees solely for the purpose of competing in the market and not bcs they need the knowledge obtained from that degree to do the job they are applying for
when thereâs jobs for only 60% of the entire population thatâs eligible to work (like in non-eu balkan countries such as bosnia&herzegovina or albania, for example), obtaining medium to high levels of education is necessary to be in the upper 60% in the first place, even when itâs just good olâ manual labor that requires exactly no qualifications apart from being able-bodied (which is what most ppl in these countries do anyway bcs thatâs the job openings these companies make in the first place)
gay culture is oversharing and bottling ur emotions up at the same time
gay culture is also being touch starved and touch repulsed at the same time
WOULD ANY SANE PERSON think dumpster diving would have stopped Hitler, or that composting would have ended slavery or brought about the eight-hour workday, or that chopping wood and carrying water would have gotten people out of Tsarist prisons, or that dancing naked around a fire would have helped put in place the Voting Rights Act of 1957 or the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Then why now, with all the world at stake, do so many people retreat into these entirely personal âsolutionsâ? Part of the problem is that weâve been victims of a campaign of systematic misdirection. Consumer culture and the capitalist mindset have taught us to substitute acts of personal consumption (or enlightenment) for organized political resistance. An Inconvenient Truth helped raise consciousness about global warming. But did you notice that all of the solutions presented had to do with personal consumptionâchanging light bulbs, inflating tires, driving half as muchâand had nothing to do with shifting power away from corporations, or stopping the growth economy that is destroying the planet? Even if every person in the United States did everything the movie suggested, U.S. carbon emissions would fall by only 22 percent. Scientific consensus is that emissions must be reduced by at least 75 percent worldwide. Or letâs talk water. We so often hear that the world is running out of water. People are dying from lack of water. Rivers are dewatered from lack of water. Because of this we need to take shorter showers. See the disconnect? Because I take showers, Iâm responsible for drawing down aquifers? Well, no. More than 90 percent of the water used by humans is used by agriculture and industry. The remaining 10 percent is split between municipalities and actual living breathing individual humans. Collectively, municipal golf courses use as much water as municipal human beings. People (both human people and fish people) arenât dying because the world is running out of water. Theyâre dying because the water is being stolen. âŠPersonal change doesnât equal social change.

draw stick figures. sing off key. write bad poems. sew ugly clothes. run slowly. flirt clumisly. play video games on easy. you do not need to be good at something to enjoy the act. talent is overrated. do things you like doing. itâs ok to suck
jesus christ yall dont play video games on easy oh my god
You never play a video game on easy no matter how hard it is to get through.
my least favorite thing that happens on this post is people who support it- except when it comes to the thing theyâre good at gamers say ânever play on easyâ artists say âsing off key but for the love of god no stick figuresâ singers say âall this but if you canât sing keep your mouth shutâ you know what? i know your type. youâre all jerks & youâre not fun to be around. have fun jacking off to the concept of superiority at your wet blanket convention. iâll be over here actually enjoying myself
