he watched in disbelief as his little brother snatched the food away, his heart breaking as he took a bite. “the handwriting is really hard to read.” minhyuk nodded and grinned as he pulled an excuse out of thin air. “i think it says bae min hyuk.” the older of the siblings carefully scooted the container towards himself, slowing his actions like he was facing a wild animal.

“mom’s handwriting is perfect.” rhys shook his head, grabbing onto the container to stop it midway. “really? hyuk and ho are completely different.”he returned his grin as he pulled the luchbox back in front of him. “did you eat yours before you decided to help yourself to mine.”

it was late, annette was tired (and only a bit tipsy), and with rory, nat, or james nowhere to be found, she’d gone to get a portkey back to the pier by herself. she grabbed the shot glass that was handed to her, waiting a few moments for the familiar tug of the portkey—-except this time, it made her dizzier than usual. as the world slowed down, she moved her left foot back to steady herself—which might have worked, had she not landed on the edge of the pier, her foot finding nothing but air as she felt herself falling, “oh—-!”

rhys had avoided drinking that night despite the beautiful surrounds and dex’s hands filling with drinks only to give to him. usually he would be more than happy to drink his share but in unfamiliar surroundings and anxiety in areas that didn’t always respect personal bubbles; he decided it’d be best to stay sober. -- and luckily he did. rhys returned to the pier just moments before she did. what was her name again? his small preparation to say a quick hi had gone to waste as she stumbled-- and stepped off the pier. it took him two steps to get to her, arm circling her waist to pull her into him but his momentum paired with gravity ( thanks world ) sent them both into the water. 

the waves were, thankfully, rather calm making it easier for him to swim and bring her along until his feet hit the sand. from the moment they’d fallen he’d held onto her, keeping her close and making sure that her head, other than initially, never went below the water. “괜찮아요?” he asked wiping the saltwater from his eyes before sweeping his hair out of his face.

RHYS BAE/ BAE MIN HO is SEVENTEEN years old and a student at MAHOU NO BASHO. HE is a CIS-MALE HALFBLOOD. They are known for being ALOOF and PRIVATE, but also praised for being ARTISTIC and QUICK-WITTED. They resemble IM JAEBUM.

BASICALLY he’s keeps to himself and is kind of that guy that seems to have all the girls’ attention? LIKE  the quiet, mysterious guy~~ who writes/composes music and can sing and danceee? sooo he’s popular but...kind of not intentionally becuase he doesn’t do anything to maintain that. ( tho dex is probably another factor that helped with his popularity LOL )

he isn’t much of a player as he isn’t too interested in relationships unless the other puts in effort because he isn’t one to commit until he is 5000% that the other person is committed 

his family is quite a happy little family. his mom is a healer and his dad is editor-in-chief of japan’s wizarding newspaper. they are pretty supportive of his music and as long as he keeps his grades up they let him do as he pleases. he does have one older brother, minhyuk, who is more of the sporty type and while they pick on each other they are pretty close. and he has a younger sister, minhee, who he is very protective of and he babies her quite a bit. ( other details will come if i decide to lol request a connection for them )

he moved to kyoto, japan right before his sister’s first year at the private magical institute in korea and has lived there ever since.

ANYWAYS he’s kind but he is most definitely an introvert. he  can be really stubborn and doesn’t really stick around to listen to ‘nonsense’ LOL

BUT YEAH this one is short but if you want to plot or something, come yell at me<3

unlike the blonde across from him rhys was content paying attention to his food. he’d chosen a dish that was closer to what he was used to rather than the locals’ choice for the night: kitsune udon. or so he thought that’ was what it was supposed to be. still it wasn’t so bad and much better than the foreign spices in the other dishes -- not for lack of trying. however he had been quiet the moment he set down, only nodding a greeting when people had found their seat next to him, and he hadn’t exactly been paying too close attention to the question that’d been asked. the table fell silent as it was his turn to tell his sign, the only thing that broke his attention away from his dinner. his eyes scanned those around him before landing on the small girl in front of him. “what was it? sign?” he tapped his chopsticks against his lower lip before shrugging and let his attention fall back to the noodles. “capricorn or rooster...i don’t know which one you want.”
