And I still mourn the person I couldâve been; that gullible child that never grew quite right.
does anyone know where unrealized versions of yourself go once theyâve been killed?

Let me show you my, my true colors,
@ownheroesâ Â liked
It was six in the morning and Deena was only just finishing work. It should be illegal, they mused as they collected the glasses scattered around the dance floor and tried to ignore the way their shoes stuck to the floor as they walked. Working the bar in the local gay club isnât exactly the kind of high living theyâd envisioned when moving to London but still, at least it paid the bills. They threw a grin over their shoulder at the other figure in the club.Â
âI know pride month is great anâ all anâ very important for    our history anâ shit, but Christ I hate pride month. Like     having a pack of fucking wild animals in here last night.âÂ
CHARLIEÂ :
Charlieâs earliest memory was standing in his bedroom cutting his wings off. It wasnât long until his father began to take part in the habit. He couldnât have that type in the family. Heâd do whatever it took to destroy everything CHarlie really was.
He ended up on the streets and was by some miracle found by the professor. Then again, he hadnât hidden the wings very well. Even so, Charlie felt he owed the man everything which made him deeply loyal.
He sat down opposite Dee, ignoring the tension between them. âOf course Iâm going to tell him.â Charlie replied. âBecause what if something happens to you? And you didnât invite me in the first place.â
"If anythinâ happens Iâll just scream.âÂ
An innocent enough statement but one with weighty implications; Deena had never killed anyone with their powers, nor did they ever intend to, but they were fairly certain they could if they needed to. Anyway it hopefully wouldnât come to that, worst case scenario was that they had to burst some eardrums, not exactly pleasant but it would certainly make people leave them alone.Â
They ignored Charlieâs proximity and the tension with the practiced ease of someone who had spent their whole life in an atmosphere. Christ, they couldnât walk into a room at their parentâs house without there instantly being some kind of tension. No wonder theyâd spent so longer trying to ignore their mutation and the power that it came with. Not any more, they thought, never again. They picked up two sets of earrings, holding them up to Charlie.Â
"Which ones?            Anâ listen Iâll be back before anyone realises anythinâ            but if it makes you feel better if Iâm not back by tomorrow            dinner time you can put my face on every milk carton you like.â Â

The book shop is terrible and Deena LOVES it. Itâs taken them ten times to even catch it while itâs open; probably they should have given up ages ago but theyâre too curious now to stop. Itâs become a little mini game in their life: come out of work, grab a cheap cup of coffee, check the store. Hard work has finally payed off and they look around with undisguised glee. The place is covered in dust, and is quite frankly one of the least inviting shops theyâve ever seen in London, or just about anywhere at that. Itâs like some kind of abstract performance art. They turn to the owner, a bright grin shining across their features.Â
âThis is the best shop Iâve ever seen.âÂ

When Deena was a baby theyâd cried and the walls had shaken. At two theyâd squealed excitedly, as children will, and shattered every glass object in the house. By the time they were three speaking was effectively banned at home and strongly discouraged in public. Ironically it had ended with their speech being stunted. Luckily the school had provided them with a speech therapist, less luckily Deena had deafened them. It was a genuine accident, no matter what the rumors said; pitch exercises just werenât designed for people like them.Â
They turned the memories over while doing their hair, readying themself for a night out. Sneaking out was a little immature maybe, but they couldnât stand being in the house a minute longer. Besides, there was an underground rock concert in town; ideal for someone with their capabilities. They absolutely werenât going because there were rumors of Brotherhood of Mutant members being there, not at all.
Despite the music they heard their door opening and glanced over their shoulder at Charlie, managing to spare him at least a small smile. They didnât ask what was up though, or offer him a seat. Friend or not, he was just about the last person they wanted to see right now.Â
âIâm going out, be a lad and donât tell the proff.      Iâll be back whenever.âÂ
;;but honestly tho.....magnito was rightÂ
;open
Donât look now but theyâre singing at the (seemingly empty) bus stop. Not the raucous, drunken singing half smothered by laughter which is their usual trick, but serious singing. Real singing, from the bottom of their boots, as mam would say. Bonnie Tyler, Total Eclipse of the Heart of all songs. Itâs actually very, very good.Â

ACTIVITY NOTICE
Hey hey!! Sorry for being so inactive atm but Iâm having to focus far more on school stuff than usual. My final exams are next month and these are the ones thatâll determine if I get into the uni Iâve dreamed about going to since I was like 10 so theyâre p damn important. Obviously revision etc has to take importance over this blog and honestly by the time Iâm done with exam prep Iâm usually too tired/overwhelmed to write much anyway. Therefor this blog, as well as my others (X X X) is on semi-hiatus until my last exam on June 23rd. I will still be here now and then to chat, do little threads or whatever but major threads and stuff are being put on hold. In the meantime if you want you can im me for my skype so we can still chat.
Thanks for understanding!! And all the best with your own exams/end of year school stuff!!! xxx
