In all of my Black ass life, I never thought I’d see the day. This was a tip I needed!!
Disney’s Pencil Test for Frozen (2013)
I don’t think Disney is aware that their movies look so much better in two dimensions
That comment reminds me of another comment for which I can’t recall the source; paraphrased, “The best CGI now will always look outdated ten years from now, but awesome drawings will always look like awesome drawings.”
Also it was…not the best CGI
“He loved mountains, or he had loved the thought of them marching on the edge of stories brought from far away; but now he was borne down by the insupportable weight of Middle-earth. He longed to shut out the immensity in a quiet room by a fire.”
I love how all of these are wholesome and then bam there's one about a mom doing cocaine
tony stark’s story is about second chances and recovery and how you can turn your life around no matter how much you’ve fucked up before and that’s why he’s so important to me.
tropes i will never get tired of
fake dating
omniscient narrator who immediately contradicts the characters (“This is fine,” she said. It was, in no way, shape, or form, fine.)
deadpan jokes while swordfighting
the “I FUCKING LOVE MY WIFE” guy
oblivious pining that slowly escalates until A is going on page rants about how pretty B’s eyes are but still doesn’t seem to recognize they’re in love
Strong Leader Type having to physically fall down in order for the other characters to see how exhausted they are
funny villains who talk and make jokes with their heroes while they’re fighting them
the villains presented as the protagonists
*increasingly pulls out bigger and bigger weapons from more unlikely places*
“I said all of your weapons” *pulls out more*
“ALL OF THEM” *pulls out one last tiny dagger*
traumatized character using humor to cover up ptsd
characters going out for a break at a restaurant/movie/whatever and something bad happening
using the “*gasp* what’s that over there???” trick to avert the enemy’s attention and it working
a villain’s weakness being something totally random and nonsensical
a hero duo arguing over who’s the sidekick while fighting a villain
“don’t be silly, we don’t need [important thing]” “you lost it, didn’t you?” “yeah”
“what’s the one thing I told you not to do tonight?” “raise the dead” “and what did you do?” “raised the dead”
“I think that went pretty well” *explosion in the distance*
Group doing a big dramatic hero landing *last guy straight up lands on his face*
“I will stay up all night and guard this magic stone, I HAVE THE WILL POW-*cuts to snoring*
what it’s like to be a baby yoda
Okay I know I’ve just said Jon’s first sex scene was pretty awkward (all the ones I’ve read so far were eh), but the cave scene as a whole made me quite emotional?? It felt so refreshing having an intimate sexual interaction that wasn’t abusive or gross or forced.. I feel like I haven’t even read one until now?
Like this moment for example, even if it can be kinda awkward, still really got to me?
“I love the smell of you,” he said. “I love your red hair. I love your mouth, and the way you kiss me. I love your smile. I love your teats.” He kissed them, one and then the other. “I love your skinny legs, and what’s between them.”
Like Jon you are NOT a poet, but it doesn’t matter because you are being honest and expressing your desire with your own words and it’s such a sweet, simple thing to say?? And he gives her the lord’s kiss and she is like completely shook because here’ s a boy who was a maid until like two days ago and now he gets to make her feel something she has never experienced before, and not because he knows anything about women’s pleasure but because he was curious about her body and attracted to her and he just did! And this blunt and forward girl suddenly becomes kinda shy because he is showing her attentions she never knew could be shown to her? It’s the cutest thing
And then they talk about her past without it becoming a stupid reason for Jon to get mad at her/judge her or get insecure about himself, they are just sharing their past experiences with each other and actually talking about what felt good and what would they like to do to each other… Like I feel this hardly ever happens in stories? People having honest conversation with each other about their sexual desires and relationship? It’s always just action, as if it wasn’t important to have an understanding of what your partner wants/likes…
And Jon, who has been so conflicted about sex because of his mother and because of his vows, finally shares a moment of intimacy with a girl he likes, and it’s the most natural thing in the world, and he’s like
“His guilt came back afterward, but weaker than before. If this is so wrong, he wondered, why did the gods make it feel so good?”
And I’m like, it isn’t Jon! You are young, you should be free to explore this part of yourself without feeling guilty about it!
It’s just so rare in these books to see characters this happy and playful, and sex being portrayed as a source of genuine happiness and joy instead of something that has to be bought or as a way of abuse people. It’s a quite little moment of tenderness and it’s ten times sadder because in the end we get foreshadowing for Ygritte’s future and it literally brought me to tears to read this:
“Jon Snow,” she told him, when he’d spent his seed inside her, “don’t move now, sweet. I like the feel of you in there, I do. Let’s not go back t’ Styr and Jarl. Let’s go down inside, and join up with Gendel’s children. I don’t ever want t’ leave this cave, Jon Snow. Not ever.”
Like you know what Ygritte? You are right, you shouldn’t.
But then they do, and oh it all got me really emotional…

So. Here! Have a list of the major quotes I’ve seen, linked to their full versions!
(ps if you have more, that quote you see in fics all the time, add the quote and the link in full)
