we’ll get a flashback of teen! richie going to the kissing bridge and him starting to carve “r + ” but something will interrupt him (maybe he’ll heard a noise and get scared bc someone might see him) 

and then we’ll see adult! richie going back to the kissing bridge (maybe pre final battle, maybe post final battle……. honestly idk which option is worse) and he’ll finally get the chance to finish carving what he started 27 years ago and the frame will show “r + e” carved into the kissing bridge
